Seminal rockers the Beastie Boys are staying busy on the festival circuit this summer while introducing audiences to the soul-jazz, funk-rooted instrumentals of their seventh album, The Mix-Up. Having already made stops at Denmark's Roskilde Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland, Beastie Boys are back in the U.S. to begin their assault on North American fans. And this weekend, the fab three landed at V Fest.
Talking with Spin Deputy Editor Steve Kandell, a very chatty Mike D shared his secrets on keeping cool in the summertime heat while MCA added his two cents on major fashion no-no's -- the group now sports classic black shades three-piece suits while performing. Ad-Rock, who kept mum throughout the brief convo, started a little shit of his own. Ch-Check it Out.
