Ya, I saw Morrissey, that's the only "popular" band I've seen lately.
My best friend got 'tix for preferred seating (4th row) then the promoter changed the venue and got GA.
Good thing my best friend is 6' 2' and buff. We had to defend ourselves against the 18-year-old 'crowd surfer' from hell. The first time he came around he got me in the back of the head with his Chuck Ts. OK, forgiveable, I just gave him a dirty look and my friend and I let him fall.
I'm serious- he came back. This time he got my friend in the back of the head with his Chuck Ts. Would have been OK except for he knocked my friend's glasses off. (seriously--'moshing at morrissey??? WTF???). He got a warning from me: ie I grabbed this kid by the throat and I told him he was done. We were pinned against the barricade and the bouncer warned me (laughing) to not touch him again, please!
The last time, I just threw him over the rail and let the bouncers take care of him.
My poor friend was blind without his glasses!
Anyway, seeing Morrissey was definitely worthwhile...as David Bowie says, he is the best modern songwriter.
