funny, I thought it was pretty weak as well, but it was interesting to go through it... i felt a rolling movement, and then all of a sudden a quick, intense jolt, and then it was over...

it woke my girlfriend out of bed and we agreed that that was indeed our first earthquake

my reaction was probably the funniest part, me running over to the news and expecting a report on every station. the earthquake site updated pretty quickly, and the latimes website had a little blurb.

but like someone said, it was nothing and you get used to these kind of things. its kind of a non-issue, everyone is just going about their business..

did anyone else feel it?

I'm in Nor-Cal so of course I didn't feel it.

I find they almost always roll first then they shake. it's not "shake rattle and roll"..."it's roll, shake and then rattle."

I was in the big 89 quake and at first I thought I was just getting dizzy. I went to put a book back on the shelf and the shelf moved away from me. it was then that I started to realize what was happening.

Man... I missed it!

I'm on my way to being the newest California rookie. Move-in date is the 15th. Just about five short days away... Watch out, I'll be in the 213.

Go West Young Man?! Squirrel's going back to cali...

Earthquakes happen everywhere, but Cali is one of the few places where the fault lines are close enough to the surface to be felt. I like to think these little quakes are a way of letting off steam, preventing a larger quake. It's a theory, wrapped in an enigma?

one of the things a like about new england is that it seems to be the safest place in the US when it comes to natural disasters.
