...that this goes beyond simple coincidence.

Two republicans in less than a week attempting fellatio (in Murphy's case succeeding), Maybe this is some sort of rite of passage for the Republicans?

Gay hookers posing as reporters. Congressmen trading dirty IMs with pages. Congressmen calling escorts to the Hill. State Reps. trying to blow undercover cops. Campaign co-chairs blowing sleeping men.

And what is worse is alot of these guys have introduced legislation to take a tougher stance on sexual behaviour that may be deemed inappropriate.

Allen's excuse for his behaviour was particularly laughable and downright racist. He claims he was so scared of the black undercover cop that he was willing to do anything to escape, including putting the man's penis in his mouth I guess.

Jon Stewart's take on Allen is quite funny. http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/player.jhtml?ml_video=91138&ml_collection=&ml_gateway=&ml_gateway_id=&ml_comedian=&ml_runtime=&ml_context=show&ml_origin_url=%2Fmotherload%2Findex.jhtml%3Fml_vid eo%3D91138%26ml_collection%3D%26ml_gateway%3D%26ml _comedian%3Dnone%26ml_context%3Dshow&ml_playlist=&lnk=&is_large=true
" I mean, come on, you wouldn't hit a guy with a cock in his mouth, would you?"

I'm sure you are familiar with the Bohemian Grove exploits - it's is renowed for it's homosexual activity - including hiring male prostutes.

Now there is nothing wrong in my book with anyone doing whatever they want, with whoever they want (as long as it is consensual) - but when these same people are supposed right wing, and often staunch christians - who round talking about family values and morality blah blah.. then you gotta ask some serious questions about such blatent double standards.

Ahhhh the shame brought upon the Republican's when they get caught with their hands in the cookie jar and a penis in their mouth.

Maybe the inner conflicting sexual mores have voting appeal amongst the faith based flock. Sex sells.

Actually, everyone can and has denounced homosexuality -- it's not limited to conservatives or even christians. It's a piling on (pun acknowledged) phenomenom when it comes to people considered farther from the "norm" than others.

I doubt there's a rite of passage for Skull & Crosses and/or the Bohemian Grove club related to homosexuality. Although it does remind me of the Romans and I bet some of these idiots like to think they're Marco Polo, too.

Maybe it has to do with people living secret lives to protect their public images, get elected and stay in office. The US culture almost forces our representatives to pretend to be accountable to some higher standard rather than allowing people to be human, warts and all.

So, these activities might just be a cry for help. Or maybe the people who can live with this repressed humanity are already doing so as homosexuals?

All excellent points. What confuses me is the gap between regular , honest hard-working joes like myself and others here and these fellows in question.

I mean I don't have anything at all against homosexuality and sexual exploits conducted in privacy with other consenting adults. It's anyone's right in my opinion to pursue what makes them happy.

However, how can you claim a position of moral leadership, and tender legislation as such, in effect literally towing the line of superior moral authority, when all the while you know that you happen to like to fellate other men? My position is that I certainly wouldn't ever travel down this road. I have enough faith and real morality in myself to acknowledge a passion or fetish that might otherwise preclude me from holding such an office. Quite simply, I wouldn't BE doing that job.

That is what confuses me. It is way too commonplace. Either that or I really live in a bubble.

That or SUBTERFUGE = "Look, the Goodrich Blimp!"

Touche'.

I guess thinking how things should be and how the genuinely are don't necessarily ever mesh.

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men’s public restroom, according to an arrest report obtained by Roll Call Monday afternoon.

Craig’s arrest occurred just after noon on June 11 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. On Aug. 8, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the Hennepin County District Court. He paid more than $500 in fines and fees, and a 10-day jail sentence was stayed. He also was given one year of probation with the court that began on Aug. 8.

A spokesman for Craig described the incident as a “he said/he said misunderstanding,” and said the office would release a fuller statement later Monday afternoon.

After he was arrested, Craig, who is married, was taken to the Airport Police Operations Center to be interviewed about the lewd conduct incident, according to the police report. At one point during the interview, Craig handed the plainclothes sergeant who arrested him a business card that identified him as a U.S. Senator and said, “What do you think about that?” the report states.

Craig was detained for approximately 45 minutes, interviewed, photographed, fingerprinted and released, and police prepared a formal complaint for interference with privacy and disorderly conduct.
