As it happens, I just got off the phone to him. The mix is all new material from him and collaborators and it's fucking great. A proper treat.

Is Fabric a band or a club or a what? I know nothing about this except Villalobos.

Talk to me.

Fabric is a club in London - it's a fantastic fucking place. They do a series of albums, one a month. They're well worth seeking out - here's a list of them all. None of them are bad - quite a feat!

The new one is Villalobos and it's soopa-doopa.

10 pounds plus shipping plus it says it's not available yet.

You have an actual copy or just a download?

It's promo. But well worth the outlay...

When I was in the US a few weeks ago they had them on offer at Virgin Megastore for $12 each. Don't know if that's any help.

Ah. September 10 for us mortals. (y)

Fabric 36 doesn't show up on their website yet, but I'm assuming it'll happen next month.

Thanks for the tip -- I would've never heard about this.

No bother - it's well worth subscribing to the series. They have some beauties. He's got a proper full length album due soon.

Here's this interview (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wGGXz4dbNTo), if you want. Kind of amusing after about 1:30.

Grrrr....

Just talked to a guy at a record store I go to. Fabric 36 isn't released in the U.S. yet.

Amazon has an import copy which ships in 4-6 weeks. Hopefully the U.S. version will be out before that.

Did you read the Pitchfork wanking session over it?

:D

No. But they usually like his stuff.

Did you see the Pitchfork article in The Onion? Something like "Pitchfork gives music 6.8."

Parkey -- thanks again for the heads up about this Fabric CD. My copy finally came in the mail and I'm listening to it for the first time now.

I like it but need to hear it some more. I just got to "4 Wheel Drive" and that's the first cut that blows me away like his stuff usually does.

I likes, I likes.
