LOL.....perfect assessment of the evening. I still can't decide if McCarren or Hammerstein was my favorite. I think it might be a tie.

Does anyone have a set list for Hammerstein?

What can I say?

I was still so overly FUNKDAFIED from last night I was at a loss for words!!

Gorgeous stage set up.

Boys looked great and sounded better.

And some hottie with major league yabbo's kept grinding her ass against my crotch all night.....

To bad that opening chick d.j. was so lame

"Funky Town"?

Please.

Even better was when she played this at McCarren

Automatic - Pointer Sisters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBw1rgHeRkM)

.....No way to control it,
it's totally automatic
whenever you're around
I'm walking blindfolded
completely automatic
all of my systems are down, down down down.........LOL, I felt like I was 13 all over again.

Yeah, her set was like a time machine! I loved it.

It was just a great night, a nice relaxed vibe throughout the show even though as mentioned elsewhere a few of the numbers inspired mosh pits and crowd surfing. We were off to the side avoiding all that. And dancing a lot.

Great performance with a lot of heart.. and two thumbs up for the Calderesque video screen installation!

Excellent excellent show. I've never seen the boys live before and it was better than I ever hoped. I took a friend with me who's never really listened to them before, and I was worried she would hate it (especially the instrumental set up with all the songs a non-fan has never heard before) and she's basically in love with them now. The not going on till 9 worked out for me, because traffic on the drive up was aweful, I thought we were gonna miss half the show.

It was fantastic. I hope I get the chance to see them again. Assuming another tour ever that ends up on the east coast, I definetly will.

I love how they threw in things like trying to do the phone message at the beggining of the maestro.

Afterwards I felt like someone needed to give them all a hug and say thanks for the great time.

Only downside? Fatty in front of my blocked my view half the time

The show was awesome!!!

I thought the opening DJ was ok no complaints there. The 9pm start was kinda lame, but it gave me enough time to get my camera in.

Great pics. I encourage others to post any they got as well. I got my camera in, but I was so far away the stage lights ruined any chance of a decent picture. I have one picture of blue glowing blob and that's it.

The lady that checked my bag totally missed my camera. I think due to the fact that I had a film canaster full of migrane pills that I had to explain to her. The sketchy canister of pills took her attention away from the giant obvious digital camera.

In the mezz. The guy in front of me kept getting up and sloshing his drink around and flicking off the band and his bottom wasn't properly covered.

If you're asking because it was you, um.. sorry about that "fatty" comment. No wait, I'm not sorry. You were being obnoxious.

i completely disagree. the hammerstein show was LAME!

i admit, i didn't know going into the show that it was going to be mostly instrumental, but that said, the instrumental parts of the show, which made up about 75% of it, were a huge drag. instrumental shows are very hard to pull off. outside of radiohead, i can't think of a popular band that can successfully do it. the beastie boys certainly did not come close at the hammerstein ballroom. the three of them are all competent musicians, but the compositions off their new album are very standard stuff, nothing innovative or mind-blowing. listening to it for over an hour at a concert was dissappointing, especially since the show got off to such a great start with Mike D taking the mic like a champ. but he promptly went behind the drums, and as soon as he did, the show's energy-level dipped and continued to fade as the night went on. most people eventually just sat down, realizing they were in for a long night. i even saw some people walk out of the concert. they finished the show doing what they do best, rapping and getting the crowd hyped, but it was too late. by that point, they had lost most of the audience, save for the rowdy frat boy mosh-pitters and the few beastie boys loyalists who would've cheered if they played the symbols for 2 hours.

You can't tell me 'Something's Got To Give' was not one of the coolest moments of your life!

The lady that checked my bag totally missed my camera.
I don't think they cared. I walked in with my camera in my HAND to all 3 NY shows, they all clearly saw it but they didn't do anything. I think they were taking away video cameras though, but not photo cams (even though most photo cams take video these days).

If you went into the show knowing it was goign to be an instrumental set, you'd have a different opinion.

Going into the show expecting a 2 hour hip-hop set and getting what you got, I can see why you were disappointed. As diehard as I am, I probably would've been as well.

I just hope you weren't the toolbox that was behind me yelling "Put down the instruments and play some fucking music!"
