anybody heard this advertized? I think I'd rather stay fat.

Here is an amazon.com reviews:

"I started taking alli 3 days ago and today was the first time I noticed anything different happening with my body. First, I had to go to the bathroom really bad after my breakfast+alli and there were floating drops of fat. Then, I cannot stop passing really nasty smelling gas, and I'm continuously afraid to pass gas for fear I will pass something more. However, seeing the fat come out kind of makes me happy. Fat is good for you, but I don't mind sending a bit of it down the shute."

And side effects from their website:

"Oily stools. As the Alli weight loss pill reduces the production of an enzyme in the intestine, which converts fatty dietary elements into fatty acids, some fat from digested food may not be processed. As a result the body will find a way to release basic fat content from the body, usually excreted naturally. Due to the nature of the left over substances, stools can often appear oily and emit an unfortunate odour.

Flatulence. Another means by which the body has been known to release unwanted waste is by flatulence. While this is a totally natural and harmless release, it can prove potentially embarrassing and uncomfortable as the customer may not have full control of their bowels at all times.

Vitamin deficiency. Even though Alli is specifically structured to take out the fatty content of dietary intake, some vitamins may consist of fatty content, which may not be absorbed into the body. It is therefore recommended that while using taking Alli, the user also takes a daily dose of vitamin tablets.

While the oily stools and flatulence are slightly unfortunate side effects, they can be controlled by reducing the dietary fat content to somewhere in the region of 15 grams per meal."

YUM!

I guess the company recommends you keep an extra pair of pants in case you have a nice, oily shart.

Yeah, I was thinking anyone that took that stuff should invest in some depends. I've decided I'm happy with being slightly chubby. The sadness from being fat is less than the sadness from not having chocolate cake. Chocolate cake FTW!

I imagine that those kind of drugs work in such a way that you would go out of your way not to eat fat, just so you wouldn't have to excrete sticks of lard.

All the really good weight loss drugs have real drugs in 'em, cathinone, Phentermin, Serotonin...

Yeah, actually one of the assumptions of the diet is that you will eat far less fat. Of course, do that without the pills and you should lose some weight, minus the explosive smelly diarhhea.

Why can't people just face the fact that it's going to take some effort to loose weight, but also that the mathematics off it is plain simple.

It's like a lifestyle for some people, being on ridicilous diets. Eat less, and better exercise more and you will drop. Piece of cake. Got the willpower for that? Another story.

It's not like starving yourself is hard. 14 year old anorexic girls can do it.

That was my approach and that's why I was able to take off as much as I did and keep it off.

^seriously, such an accomplishment.

yeah, i scream at the tv when the commercial for this comes on. especially the part where they talk about having a lower fat or healthier diet or intake or something - NO YOU'RE NOT, YOU'RE STILL EATING THE SAME SHIT EXCEPT NOW YOU'RE CRAPPING OUT MORE OF IT! it's the same deal as olestra, and i'm not a fan because helloooo vitamins A, D, E and K are all fat-soluble and you NEED a certain amount of fat to LIVE. it's not like fat is the only culprit. it's overconsumption and inactivity. FUCK!

it's not necessarily eating less, it's eating better foods.

the nutri-system ads especially piss me off. you know no one pays attention to the part that says "results not typical" when they show the woman who went from a 12 to a 2.
