that's why you give a dog a bone, so you dont have to wash their dang teeth

they get bones.

they also get more human food than they should though, and human food is awful for teeth.

Don't use human toothpaste. And yeah, special dentabones should do the cleaning job satisfactorily. Dogs are not supposed to eat human food.

i know they arent supposed to eat human food, but yeah, they do anyway. it's really my dad's doing more than mine. but they're very lean and fine specimines of doggy health, despite the occasional cheetoh

i got a tube of doggy toothpaste today that came with a sort of regular toothbrush and a rubber thing to pull over your finger with little scrubby nubs. i thought the finger brush would go over better, but so far that hasn't been working out. libby does seem to really like biting the toothbrush, so i let her bit it and pull it away to scrub a little. im trying to convince her that brush teeth is a fun game. i think the reason the finger thing didnt work though is cause i put the toothpaste on it, and when they said it was peanut flavored, that was all lies. its a green gel thats gritty and tastes like minty vegetables. if that's their attempt at "peanut" i'd be really scared to see how "chicken" turned out.

I saw canine toothpaste in the store yesterday. I'd never seen such a thing, or noticed it, anyway. It made me think of this thread.

I'm glad that's over now.
