it looks like there is going to be a show at The Fillmore in detroit, MI on Sept 24th according to this site (http://www.livenation.com/event/getEvent/eventId/295453) and this site (http://www.sohood.com/1/content/view/2452/41/)

I guess they keeping adding dates. One would assume a second Detroit date would be added.
That second link also lists the Chicago Gala as being sold out.

And they apparently added Montreal after all. The emails lied.
The amazingly fucked up method by which they roll out tour dates continues. (Forgive me; I'm bitter for personal scheduling reasons.)
I suppose it's a good sign. It's a sign that this is a DYI tour instead of a slick machine? :)

So I'm guessing that they don't actually hate the mid-west.

Any bitching isn't unwarranted at this point. I'm a chill motherfucker on most fronts, and I've always tried to roll with it, because, hey, it's the bboys. But when I thought the pageant tour couldn't be any more fucked up and they one-upped it with this tour!
Hey, it's the bboys.

Yeah, just Minneapolis, I suppose. :(
They haven't been here since last century.

The devil's advocate would say the benefit of announcing concert dates "at-will" would be that it tends to weed out the casual fan who's only there to hear FFYR.
You kind of have to be paying attention to what the Beasties are up to to get in on the pre-sale or the opening of the regular sale of these shows.
I couldn't be happier with the way they're handling their shit.
Try to keep in mind that these are the type of things that are actually a help for us, the true fans, to see them in the small, intimate venues.
I kind of enjoy logging on and discovering they've announced another date.

Maybe next tour they will go back to a full tour schedule of more of the major cities.
And remember that they played a lot of the European cities and festivals that they missed on the last tour.
This tour kind of reflects the album itself,...low-key.

Beasties won't play in Minneapolis on a big tour ever again. They aren't popular enough to play our arenas. I have had to road trip to see them since Hello Nasty, so people can't bitch about me road tripping ever again.
Van Halen Reunited will sell out one of our arenas. As will John Mayer. And the Blue Man Group. It's a sad world.
