Once when I was a kid I woke up to find my Dad had put together a scale model of Jabba's Palace and hand painted each figure. There must have been 20 of them, maybe more. They still smelled like paint in the morning, the guy must have been up half the night painting them. He's not an affectionate guy so when he did that it was really impressive to me.
have any good stories of nice stuff you Dad did for you when you were a kid?

At age 7 I was learning the drums, and my Dad took the sticks off me and sat behind the kit. I thought "No way can he play the drums" and he proceeded to rattle of some rimshots and various snazzy fills and bash out a nice jazz rhythm. He told me that's how they used to impress girls in his day.
Throughout my life I found out he flew planes in WW2 in his late teens and early 20s, was a reporter, a hotelier, started a trading war on bottled liquor, and I even witnessed him build his own lawnmowers from scratch in his latter years. And I never really gave him props on any of it. I doubt he's got the internet though lol.
Big ups Dad.

when he took me and 6 girl friends to six flags for my 15th birthday. He said I could have a quinceañera but I said nah and he came up with the six flags idea. Paid for all of us, gave us spending money, dropped us off to go have fun all day on our own then picked us up, drove back down to San Diego.
It was nice :)

I think my dad was a record because my mom just lately has been bitching about how they cant take a trip to the states and its all my dads fault...
I think it was probably drug related and sometime in the late 70s (doesnt surprise me) and this is why nobody highlights the fact that my brother is a soft drug addict and noone sees a problem with it
though isnt there some "good behavior for 25 years" deal where your record is erased...I should look into it just for my own knowledge.
anyways, that was more like the only uncool thing my dad did
everything else my dad does is super mega cool because I have the nicest daddy ever.
lately though he picked me an entire container of fresh raspberries and brought them over to my house unannounced one evening this week

When my Dad was renovating the bedroom I shared with my older sister when I was about 4 or 5, he replaced the ceiling with pine panels. Some of the panels had small holes where knots in the wood had been, in a few of them he put little tiny pictures, so that when we were on the top bunk of the bunk beds we shared and looking at the ceiling we could find the tiny hidden treasures.
My Dad was fucking awesome.
RIP.
he was a draft dodger too.
that was pretty cool.

daddy drank alot...
daddy drank alot...
Now that's fuckin' cool!(y)
I was gonna write drugs to be a smartass, but my dad to this day denies every doing any. He graduated high school in '69 and grew up with four brothers, so logically............yeah. But why lie now? Fuck I'm the baby of the fam and 27. Plus, I'm no so sure how cool it would be if he really is telling the truth. The 60's without drugs!?!?! COME ON!!!!

Well, I dont have a dad but I have a kick ass grandpa. There are three stories I LOVE to tell about my grandpa:
A. when he was a kid he liked to steal roasts and pies off of the window cill of his aunts resturaunt and eat them with his friends in the park
B. My grandpa built up a huge chunk of the houses in the Chicago suburbs.
B. One night he went to a party with his buddies from the mill, and they were gambling in the bar. Some cop trying to get his start raided them to make a name for himself, and had his buddies go in there and pull all the men out. The cop said, wait here while I go get the other guys inside, and when he came back they were still all standing there. He asked them, what the hell is the matter with you guys? You could have been at the bar down the block by now, and all the guys said that if one of them was going to jail, all of them were going. The cops told the bartender that he was free to go, but he said no, im with these guys, and grabbed a few bottles of whiskey and vodka out of the bar - The guys were drinking with the cops in the pattywagon until they were about a block away from the station.
My grandpa is mos def kick ass - even to this day, he's the old school John Wayne type that you dont find anymore. :(

He drove through Europe, the Saharas and all over the Middle East with his friends in their Land Rover back in the 70s.
While working for a while as a volunteer in Cuba, probably in the 70:s as well, he shook hands with Fidel Castro. Apparently Fidel and his men stopped by with their jeeps to great the workers. They were treated royally throughout the whole trip. True story.
*CIA knocks on tompz's door*
Those guys probably don't knock though. I'll kung-fu the shit out of them.
