Who knows if the Beastie Boys will care but I'm taking my twin boys to the Gala Event in SF next weekend at the Warfield.
It's their 11th b-day and they dig on the Beastie Brothers as much as I do. You should have seen their face when found out they were going to see the Beastie Boys live!!
So if any of you guys have contact with Beastie Boys, have them send a 'Happy Birthday' to Tony and Andrew...
Their very first concert will be seeing the Beastie Boys live and direct in San Fransico at the Warfield... What a story that will make!!

I took my son to his fist Beastie Boys concert for his 10th birthday too back in 2004.
Good move taking them to a Gala show. It should be a mellow enough crowd that they should be fine.
If they are going dressed to impress and you're in the GA, I'm sure one of the Beasties will spot them.

We're actually in the balcony... I figured it would be a little more mellow up there.

I think Civic Center is the closest stop to the Warfelid.

Well my boys didn't get a "happy Birthday" on stage from the Beastie Boys...they got something better. As we were walking around in downtown SF (wearing suits, of course) we ran into MC fucking A!!!
He kicked back and talked with us for a few minutes. He told my boys that "they were looking sharp". I explained that it was their birthday and their first concert of any kind. He wished them a happy birthday and told them that he would put on a good show for them.
He was a super cool down to Earth guy. I have to admit, I was caught of guard when meeting him. But I did get to shake his hand.
Thanks for taking time out to chat with my boys. You made their 11th birthday an event they will NEVER forget.
Awesome show!

He was such a cool guy too, man. He even talked to me about his daughter a little bit...
I was so caught of guard I didn't know what to fucking say.

I saw a guy with two kids, all in shirts and ties, boarding a BART train toward the east bay after the show, was that you?

Im sure that was us. We all had white shirts on. I'm a tall Italian guy, 6'3". We all have dark brown hair...

With that passing of Yauch, I thought that I would bump this thread so others can read how down to Earth Yauch really was. Not too many celebrities or musicians would have stopped and talked to complete strangers and even let us into his private world (turns out his daughter and my twins are the same age).
It was an honor to meet him.
