Wow...
I just listened to "LA is the Place" and "Boyz N Tha Hood", and I am shocked by the number of Beastie Boys samples in there.
"Time to Get Ill" is sampled, others from LTI, and Johnny Ryall in just those two songs. Did NWA Sample them a lot?

Mike D was once a member of NWA. He says so on the Country Mike album...

Both N.W.A. and the Posse (November 6, 1987) and Straight Outta Compton (August 8, 1988) predate Paul's Boutique (July 25, 1989). It would be impossible, considering everything we know about time and space, for N.W.A. to have sampled "Johnny Ryall" on either of those albums. Probably sampled something the Beasties also sampled on that track.

the sample in question is from "Mr. Big Stuff" by Jean Knight.....it's the "who do you think you are" line.

I heard a bunch, even on Straight Outta Compton there's a few (mostly Fight For Your Right 'Yeah!!!'s and so on).
But I wasn't shocked.

I'm pretty sure NWA had a pretty big beef with Beastie Boys for some reason for instance the opening linein 8-ball is "I don't drink brass monkey and try to be funky". There is something else I noticed to but I can't think of it off the top of my head.
