Mother was released in Japan for the Famicom. It never was released stateside.

Mother 2 was released here in America as Earthbound on the SNES.

Mother 3 was supposed to be Earthbound 64 and then was delayed and then canceled and then finally released on the Game Boy Advance in Japan last year.

Also there was a Mother 1 + 2 compilation released in Japan for the GBA as well.

Doshin has nothing to do with Shigesato Itoi's Mother series.

And its more similar to Dragon Quest.
