Hey,
I'm thinkin bout making a mash up but I have no idea how to change the speed of an acapella (or beat, I prefer acapella) so it goes with the beat.
I work with garageband, and in garageband u can't change the speed of an acapella or imported beat. So do any of u guys have software for easy editing speed? (or any of u guys can handle me the We got the or The move acapella 133 bpm:o) thx.

Hey, Buddy. I'm sure everybody has their own tricks and techniques for getting things to time up properly. Personally I use Acid (I'll pass on the easy joke) http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/acidfamily.asp

I try to stay away from altering the speed of either the beat or the acapella, It makes it sound unnatural to me (unless that is specifically an effect I am going for). I prefer to look for things that are relativley close in tempo to begin with, and then chop up the acapella into bits such that I can fudge their positioning closer together (to speed up) or farther apart (to slow down). This is obviously VERY tricky, as you don't want it to sound like you are doing this, you have to be very judicious in how and where you make your splits. Again, this is usually how I do it. I'm sure everyone's got their own bag o' tricks. I've never used Garageband but I assume you can do this with it if you want....

For simple mash ups, Acid can't be beat

I chopped the acapella in pieces and it worked!!:D but it sucked:p.
So I thought let's give Acid a shot,
but now I got another problem that's bothering me for a very long time... I have garageband on an apple, everything works. And yesterday I downloaded Acid (For windows) , but I just can't get my keyboard right. I connected it to the pc with ESI MIDI Mate, my pc CAN find the midimate, but not my keyboard. It just don't makes sound and Acid doesn't give a sign if he's connected. Help plz:o.
