SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better tonight, than last night...

They opened up with, It's The New Style...Alright Hear This, Skills to pay the bills, Brass Monkey, Paul Revere, Time to get ill...

Eric Bobo came out on stage during Son of Neckbone and performed. This was a highly awesome show, and the setlist was highly UNPREDICTABLE...im sure if you read Mic to Mic you'll get the full setlist and story...but this show was really fuckin excellent, definitly my favorite Mix Up show so far...

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!!! I thought tonight was off the fuckin' chain. It was my first show of this tour, so i wasn't sure how it measured up to the others, but DAMN! Too many goodies tonight to even try and list. Mid-Sabrosa they busted into a live "Alright, Hear This" teaser (have they been doing that all tour?). Wow. Lots of smiles, the Bobo appearance that Paul mentioned earlier, i got to meet Alfredo after, Mike doin goofy dances, the list goes on and on.

long live beastie boys......

Anyone down for a pre-party before/after the Gala tomorrow?

Now that you mention the "Alright Hear This teaser," I remember picking up on that slightly in AC and trying to comment on it to Pooty but he wasn't following me / it was loud, etc.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I think I'm gonna freak out today before the end of the day. Too bad I'm stuck at work. I wish I coulda gone to one of the Greek Theater shows. Oh well. Tonights gonna be insane. Anyone else ever been to the Wiltern? I saw Sonic Youth there twice. They played there on two different tours. I saw Bella Fleck play there. Its a great venue. I can't believe the Beastie Boys are playing there.

great show last night. my favorite part was bringing out Bobo as a guest performer, with him and Alfredo on dueling bongos...

I also appreciated waiting until the encore to bust out with So Whatcha Want... the crowd appreciated it as well...

during Intergalactic, MMM had a Mix Up with his turntables and MCA had the band forge on doing the rest of the song a capella... it was cool to see Yauch as a leader, because they easily could have quit midway through the song and give up...

once they got through a couple of verses a capella, MMM got his gear back in order and got back into the groove seamlessly...

it turned out he had pressed "Reset", according to his techie talk with Adrock between songs...

I also enjoyed MMM's participation during the instrumental tracks, it is a nice addition to the live performance...

Adrock gave a nice shoutout to Los Angeles, mentioning how many of their songs were recorded right up the road from the Greek, and Mike reminded him and the crowd how close Atwater is to Griffith Park....

it reminded me of a Bob Dylan show at the Garden when he waxed nostalgia on writing his famous tunes in Manhattan back in the day...

it brings a historical perspective to their careers. they are who they are because of their history in LA

great show from the seated area, but I cant wait to get close and personal tonight at the Wiltern...
