now THIS virtual character looks more like my yauch! :o(y)
Spider-Man, Darth Maul ... and now MCA of the Beastie Boys. What's the pattern? They've all been
virtual characters on a video game skateboard.
Game publisher Activision revealed to MTV News on Friday (August 24) that the Beasties' Adam Yauch, a.k.a. MCA, will be an unlockable
character in "Tony Hawk's Proving Ground," the company's October installment of its annual skateboarding franchise.
The music legend joins a roster of unlockable bonus skaters that has included superheroes and rock stars from Iron Man to Gene Simmons to
last year's featured franchise guest, Travis Barker. In exclusive images, it appears that MCA will be skateboarding — of all places — on the moon.
Check out exclusive stills of MCA from "Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. (http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1567732&photoID=2570420)
Soundtrack for "Tony Hawk's Proving Ground," according to Activision:
· Bad Brains -- "Banned in DC"
· Beastie Boys -- "Electric Worm" :)

I know, it seem's like we are those imagrants from Mexico cooking a Taco supreme. You know, in a world of our own.:)
it's true though isnt it? Its like some weird ass fantasy world here. Were like the Star wars nerds of the music world. Sure everyone KNOWS of the bboys because of F4UR but thats it. I have the boys all over everything at school, shirts, dogtags, etc.. and everyones like "who's that?" Sure they know of them, but with the new CD being instrumental and what not and them out of MTV and the media its hard to believe that many people are actually all "OMG BBOYS!" like they are "OMG PANIC @ THE DISCO!"
Unless of course Tony Hawk is a big time bboys fan... If I were famous and had my own movies/video games, I'd have the bboys in everything just so I could meet them. Like "Oh Yauch, im making a video game about skateboarding, do you wanna be in it?"
"Sure."
"SCORE!"
"Hey Mike im making a documentary about vegans even though I hardly know anything about them, do you wanna be in the movie and help me with everything else too?"
"Sure!"
"SCORE!"
lol and everyone else would be like.. who the hell are these dudes and wtf are they all up in my merch for?
No one else would like it but I'd be hanging out with them like "HIZZAH!"
wow... I like to ramble.

^ agreed! (btw your icon rocks!) But its true. People just know 2 or 3 songs at the most, the majority of them couldnt even begin to comprehend the fact that the bboys have instrumentals! Im not ashamed of my love for the boys by far - but whe your in HS and these kids are asking you "who's that?" and when you actually do tell them they respond either
a.) "BRASSSMONKEY! THAT FFUNKY MONKEY!"
b.) or "who?"
c.) or "sick, they're like 100!"
I'd rather just keep my obsession to myself.

haha, i know the feeling. luckily, i took one of those people (sort of a combo of a and c) to the ny gala and now shes in love with them and bought her first b-boy album the other day (cyh). i was so proud.
after i went to the show, i had to get my excitement out by telling my two 35-ish year old coworkers. they thought it was cool. almost no one else did. the shows have pretty much all been sellin out though, so somebody must still love them. aside from us.

Yeah im taking my cousin and shes in her late 30's, but she's one of those downtown, fashion designers, lives in a high rise and goes out for cocktails every weekend type of people. So she's been telling all her friends and co-workers that she needs to take the day off in September so she can take me to see the bboys, and she's so excited about it but they're kinda like... what? ok...

you guys MUST be young b/c everyone i know loves the beastie boys and knows them for so much more than just one or two songs. see, we "grew up" with the boys. Adrock is maybe 9 years older than me and i got into them way young. i've had every album they've ever had and most people my age do too. that's why their shows have sold out. they have a HUGE fan base that can't, won't, don't stop. i am dreading the day we hear they won't be putting anything new out. they're innovators and they are still pushing the music boundary. plus, they simply rule.
tell your friends that they are missing out on some rad stuff and point out to them how important Paul's Boutique is to the current hip hop scene.
YAY! ima get the game ASAP!
