seriously, WTF? ONE DAY in jail and community service????? Firecrotch's misdemeanors are far more serious than Paris Hilton's and Paris serves more time? so we really did make an unessessary example of Paris.

anyhoo..this comentary pretty much sums it up for me....

La-La Land lets Lindsay Lohan off easy
If any troubled celeb needed a harsh lesson, it was Lohan

Lucky No. 7.

On Thursday morning, a day before her scheduled arraignment in Beverly Hills, La-La let LiLo off with seven misdemeanor DUI charges in connection with her two arrests for drunk driving in May and July. Two counts each for driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol count of more than .08 percent, being under the influence of cocaine and one count of reckless driving.

Later that afternoon, it was announced that a plea deal had been reached, and Lohan would serve a whopping one day in jail, plus 10 days of community service.

Now, TMZ is speculating that the D.A. went soft on Lohan because her successive arrests in such a short period of time indicate that she has real problems.

Duh.

I’ve got to say I kind of have a problem with these charges, too.

If any of the Hollywood Fo’ — Paris, Nicole, Britney and LiLo — deserved to be on lockdown for their careless and potentially fatal offenses, it’s Lohan. Rehab didn’t help her. Angry letters from studio bosses didn’t faze her. Jane Fonda’s sage advice didn’t penetrate. And let’s not even discuss her terminally dysfunctional parents, Michael and Dina.

Their inability to parent properly is the only reason I have an ounce of empathy for their baby girl. If they hadn’t messed up, she probably wouldn’t be so messed up.

But instead of spending a couple weeks in jail, where she would have time to contemplate the error of her ways and perhaps make a few new friends, Lohan, who has been holed up at a posh rehab facility in Sundance, Utah, — reading the Alcoholics Anonymous handbook and playing with dogs — will only have to spend one day behind bars.

L.A. law. You gotta love it, right? If I were Paris Hilton or Lil’ Kim, I’d be really ticked off right about now.

Hmmmm. Well, Nicole Richie spent 82 minutes in jail for her offenses.

Its hard to believe the cocaine possession didn't count for much, I thought that was like the worst illegal drug you could possess.

Anyway, you know what word I like? Contemplative

she didn't have enough on her for it to be a felony. the bitch snorted it all up before the police caught up to her.

yeah and Nicole's time was a joke too...though she is pregnant and I'm sure they could use that as a "medical reason" to let her out. Plus I will say Nicole's handlers have done a great job of making sure she does the PR rounds. she's done alot of interviews about how wrong she was. not saying that should make a difference, but she's playing the game right.

though I'd lean towards agreeing with you
at the same time, just because these people are in the spotlight doesn't mean they should get special treatment. If Lohan was not famous and just another unknown random person she'd get a much harsher punishment. There's no question about that.

And THAT is what's sickening. IMO.

The law is inconsistent for those who have money and those who don't, this is why we should care.

Seeing that Lohan has been in contempt of the other sentences she has been given, who is to say this will phase her?

People are misleed by thoses celebrities drama, wich are quite hollow. IN the mean time, real crime are happening in foreign countries.

BUllshit in can. Why people put a little amount of their free time reading thoses stupidity? How can this affected you?

And yea, people who have money have free pass in this world, that's the way it work. Unfair but it is a reality.

I like to see famous people go to jail damn it! it's something I care about deeply. I want to see more of them in jail, now. Tom Cruise? jail. John Travolta? jail. Renee Zellwger? throw that bitch in jail. every fucking one of them Hollywood people.

Except for bill murray and jack nicolson. those two cats get to roam free and do what ever the fuck they want. they can get drunk together and take over the golf courses of the world for all i care.(y)
