...I will make a pixel art rendition of you - habbo styleeeee. I'm trying to build up a catalogue of pixel people for later use, and I figure that this is as good a way as any of finding me some subjects.

Terms and conditions.

1) I need to have a recent photo of you as I forget what some of you look like. Full body/above waist shots preferred. If you don't post a photo, you won't get a pixel person.
2) First come first served - person A gets their pixel person before person B.
3) I have the right to make your arse fatter/head bigger if I don't like you.
4) Each pixel person will be done when it's done. This isn't a quick turnaround thing. Creating decent pixel people takes time and effort and I have little of either during the week, so I'll probably do them on a Sunday or something :/
5) May contain nuts.

The key word is preferred.

Basically, it works like this - I'm working with a small amount of pixels here, certainly not enough to do faces in any major detail. The main identifying features are going to be a) your hair, and b) your clothing style. You can feel free to post any photo, but I would prefer you to post a body shot/above waist shot, to give me a little more to work with. You can post a shot of your face if that's all you want to do, but don't come crying to me when I put you in a pair of lycra bicycle shorts or a borat mankini because I don't know anything about your dress sense.

I could trawl the board looking for photos of you all, but that would defeat the whole 'post here' element.

My technique still needs improvement though. Sometimes I'll make a person a pixel or two too tall without realising or I'll not be able to get a foot or an arm quite right and have to spend an hour trying to acheive the correct pose.

I've also just realised that the droppinscience one isn't anywhere near at the right angle and you won't begin to understand how much that pisses me off :/

what programme do you do them in? they are very good.

I use photoshop and zoom in as closely as possible. I select 'view grid' and then I painstakingly produce each character pixel by pixel using the pencil tool and following a rough template that I have alongside (so that I know how many pixels high the face/body of each individual is).

Each character probably takes about 2-2.5 hours to produce, and that band and stage that I produced for GEA just now took me 3 or 4 evenings spread out over the last 2 weeks.
