Just curious, looking for a new one.

The only thing I remember from Avast was the pop-up coming up every so often

I changed from AVG to Avast, but Avast slowed my computer down quite a bit, especially during start up. so I changed back to AVG. my girlfriend's compy experienced the same thing, so she also changed back.

as NLOL says, AVG and Zonealarm are how real gangstas protect their computers.

I just re-newed mine.
I didn't know it would slow down my computer, guess I haven't anything to compare with...
It is much mor effective thatn Norton anyway...

i used avast for awhile, but i switched to avg when i got a new computer. i honestly don't notice the difference but if a bunch of nerds say avg is better, i trust 'em

also, avg is free too, use that

I have to agree with Dred on this. Avast slowed down my already slow comp heaps. I've had no issues with it at all. It works really well, better than norton.

Avast is fine if you dont run the tea-timer option but AVG is overall better.

Its really just kind of a matter of preference.
