So either eBay made a mistake or someone somehow got my checking account information and took out over $500 :( eBay SAYS they didn't do it though so, who knows.
Lame. Right when I really need it AND I just wrote a gigantic check for a large bill so as soon as that check is cashed I'm going to have $20 left, lol.
But I put in a claim with my bank and they are going to investigate and get my money back, I hope.

Somebody I know had their bank account details stolen last year, and then found out after a court case that about £400 of their money had been stolen by an Al Qaeda cell to fund a propaganda website which included footage of beheadings and bomb-building "how-to" videos. The members of the cell were all convicted of incitement to murder.

What's possibly/probably more nuts is that as I read the word "regardless" in your post, the singer in the song I'm listening to sang the word "regardless" at exactly the same time.

But cheahhh, monies (y)

Wow, that sucks! I hope your bank gets it back to you soon.
Did you close your ebay account or your card?
beastieangel01

not yet. I feel like I shouldn't touch either until it gets resolved, and I'm not sure why that is. Well, with eBay I don't want to close it then get a "well this account is closed blah blah" bullshit excuse. Also, even if someone tried to take more money from me I have 20 bucks so ha, GOOD LUCK.
Once it's resolved and I hopefully get the money back, then I'll go from there to change all my information.

Well maybe you could have them freeze your account or something. How do you know it was through ebay that the money was stolen? Is that what appeared on your account?
:(

it's not 100% that it's eBay.
Basically, what happened was that I recently sold an item on eBay. There was a dispute because she didn't receive it right away. It showed up finally so the issue was resolved just this past week. However, on my bank statement it said Paypal eCheck for 521 something or other. I was like WOAH hold the phone.
$521 didn't make sense. She bid on the item for about 4460 then my seller fees were around $59 at the time. I don't have exact numbers right now but it added up to be $528 something. So still, $512 doesn't make sense anyway. I called Paypal, talked to eBay, the girl closed the dispute claim so it was resolved. Paypal looked in to it and said it looked like it was for eBay seller fees. I talked to eBay and they said the invoice was for $59 whatever so it wasn't them. Whatever. Either someone screwed up or someone got my account information.

I thought it was going to be about not getting the lead in the school play or not making varsity or something but then realizing that just by giving it your best you still came out a winner.....imo that's much better than ebay mishaps

THAT'S RIGHT PUNKS. I DO NOT AUTHORIZE! I canceled the payment agreement with eBay right after it happened the first time. Then I get this email this morning that they tried take this money, AGAIN. I just got the money back thanks to my bank yesterday, too.
I swear to god. I am about to punch someone repeatedly in the face. Also, I love how it's a complicated matter just to close an eBay account. And then when it says to email them with a problem, oop, page cannot be displayed.
LOVELY.

so whats the deal, it WAS ebays fault?
beastieangel01

it certainly looks that way, although my bank retrieved the funds without contacting me so I may call them and say "soooo, who was it?" so I know who to punch.

it would be a pleasure for me to punch them for you.
Or I can easily organise a hit. I know people.
Just sayin.
You know who to call.
If you had my number.
Which you don't.
