berkeley and San Francisco was alot of fun...

saturday the Beastie Boys rocked the Greek Theater in Berkeley and gave another outstanding performance. now, I'm not going to say they mailed it in, but lets just say I heard a couple of criticisms from some audience members who complained about sound levels and audibility of lyrics...

its probably good that they get a little break, the setlists were getting a bit predictable....

but I always enjoy a good road trip with a friend and hearing them react to the songs they hear...

I am still digging Open Letter, Skills To Pay the Bills, and Super Disco Breakin Live...

me and my friend were accused of being CIA with our dark suits and sunglasses. a few people hesitated lighting up in front of us...

but Berkeley is laid back and as cool of a college town as the best I have seen...

In san fran, were the sea lions at Pier 39, Chinatown, Haight/Ashbury and the trolley cars.... great fun for a two day roadtrip

I heard some whining from a few down low about the sound, but they mostly attributed the sound to the height of the stage. I did sense a bit of "mailing it in". I won't complain but I sensed it a little. They played a good list of shit though! :D

dude. I was in the thick of it at the Greek and had no issues hearing a damn thing. I have no idea what "they" are talking about with the audio:rolleyes: it was cool.

The only thing they noticably screwed up was Live @ Pj's. they skipped Mike D's drum break..but they recovered and all in all I still enjoyed the performance. after that little flub they were tight as ever IMO! I loved it.

I wish I had known more about which board members were gonna be there..it would have been fun to shout at ya.;)

The audio was pretty good for a greek show. I was right behind the floor and it sounded good. But some spots are not sounding great and even a few local reviews said that the sound was muffled. I have been on the rail a few times there and for some reason it sounded like ass there. But other times was perfect.

The beasties were spot on that night, or so I thought. They seemed be be in awesome spirits and addressed the crowd much more then the previous
bay area shows. Most reviews local said they tore the bay to pieces with their shows this past weekend.

Anyhoo, yeah too much to say about all the shows... I'z at both the Warfield in SanFran Fri night and the Greek in Bezerkerly Sat and both were fun in their special little ways. I do love me some Gala-ing though, so I'm going to have to say Warfield>Greek.
