Life without the Beastie Boys

I was just thinking about this because I have an assigment for English where I have to write about something im passionant about. So naturally I picked the first thing that comes to my mind - the Boys.

So I was thinking, what would our lives be like if, say, Mike went on to be a business man/art dealer, or Yauch went on to be a teacher or president and H opened a record store or something?

Where would we be? It's kind of a scary thought for myself. Who knows what kind of music I'd be into if I didnt have the bboys all of my life. Maybe I'd be into country, or... be some weirdo gothic person. (OH NO SCARY THOUGHT!)

Who would have helped Run DMC start hip hop? Who would help out the tibetan people? Surely no one would have started a Malaira fund. There would be no good music! No message board to come to every day. No great friendships formed. (I love MiketotheD, Peide Grande and Ggirlballa!) No sexy pictures or sounds to cheer me up every day...

God a world without the bboys doesnt sound like a world for me! (n)

What a cool idea to write about them! I love them so much; they are my all-time favorite band and they can rock it until the day they die (beyond too if that exists).

I got another topic: What if you were a Beastie Boy? I think about that and I love their photos of their whole career (I'm lovin' the old Kodak strip ones from Some Old Bullshit), and they have their videos; all things to look back on. Then there's the traveling, fame, fans like us who love them. When seeing them live, it's like you and them are so close, yet so far away because of security and what not. I saw them live for the first time 8/5, then again 8/8 of this summer; amazing!

Good luck w/ English; I'm taking English Comp in college this semister; I dread research paper at the end, aaahhhhhh!

Well, my life would be different in that I would be broke from spending all my money in H's record store (I'd even buy a Ja rule CD if Adrock was the one ringing me up), would be much better educated in world affairs since my fav past time would be following President-I-Heart-Yauch in the press. Do you think that President MCA would buy from Mike D to decorate his oval office? (now, that would be a stylish whitehouse!!!)

and I agree about the record store, Lol. If H ran a record store I'd be there 24/7 If I couldnt get a job there - we'd stand behind the counter together, watching President Yauch on TV improving the world while Mike decorated his office. The world would be a better place.

Everyone is so obsessed with Mike's fro. I swear to god it is the best thing since sliced bread. If I were a guy and as hot as Mike I'd totally be rockin the fro.

And I do think that MMM would be workin with H. Actually I think MMM and H would be doin clubs and crap, just behind the turn tables spinnin sick beats. Man I cant wait for the next album so we can get a taste of some new shit! I've missed Mike so much!

Jesus, you sound like a 4 year old. First of all, Yauch would not make a good president. He's a wonderful man and one of the coolest people in the world, but he's not a politician. Being the president isn't just about making speeches and smiling at cameras... shit, no wonder Bush won again if they give people like you the right to vote.

And besides that, why would Yauch want to be president? It's probably the most stressful job in the world right now, and most of the time he would just be a brainless mouthpiece for the real power brokers in the White House. He wouldn't have any time to play music and would constantly be in meetings with a load of dickheads in suits.

You seem to have this idea of the presidency just being a chance to tell everyone what to do and chill in the White House. Your apparent lack of knowledge about your own government actually frightens me considering you are probably the most powerful nation in the world.
