Quote - Hey so anybody figured out a place to meet up before the show yet, or what?
Damn good point. Before/after the shows - the Beasties in London for 3 days! Party in the extreme!
I live in Brixton and want to throw a house party but it would probably be an extremely reckless thing to do seeing as I live in a room in a houseshare:(. So I'll be out and about in Brixton and Camden I guess? Hopefully see you around?
I'm going to all 3 gigs and have taken the week off work to party hard.
Unfortunately I'm too skint to have sorted out a decent costume for the Gala event - even though I've had months of notice - oh well! I'll do my best:D
Right - let's get organized -
My favourite places in Brixton centre are -
The Effra - quite spacious mixed/Carribean pub a bit out of the way but Tuesday night often has some great little jazz or Reggae bands (Tuesday if I remember correctly - they have bands on other random nights too I think?) - recommended
The Trinity Arms - really nice traditional English pub with nice beer garden and quality service (clean beer taps!)- not that massive and a little out of the way (go up the road with 'REDS' records on the corner until you reach a small square and you can't miss it) - probably my favourite - recommended
Plan B - good club in the centre of Brixton between the tube and the Academy - could be good for after gig shenanigans. (I Saw KRS One rock the place to pieces back in June for £6! - with money going to a charity!) - recommended
SW9 - Dorrell Place - off the main road between the tube and the Academy - a bit small and busy but can be nice (can be quite good for cocktails)
Living - Coldharbour Lane - can be alright - quite spacious and easy to find but can be cheesy (upstairs usually if I remember correctly?)
White Horse - up Brixton Hill - a bit out of the way but a good place if you're familiar with the area - spacious enough and pretty cool at times - recommended
Brixtonian Havana Bar - Beehive place - between the tube and Academy on a back street - a bit out of the way but a great place - drinks are quite expensive - haven't been for a while but think it's still going well - again can be good for cocktails - again a good one for after the gig maybe? - recommededJust a few suggestions - anyone got any more? There are LOADS of places in the Brixton area - many of which are a bit kind of alcoholic old men pubs which I'm less likely to frequent.
In Camden I'll either be in the Underworld or the world famous Elephant's head I should imagine?
Peace!
I posted the above a few days ago - I only got 2 responses - I was beginning to feel like the "get excited for the DVD!" guy off AIFST!

For after the gig I'd say the Brixtonian, SW9, Plan B and Living would probably be the more appropraite ones from that list.:)(y)
