Got tickets to the Brixton show for tonight (the 4th) and have literally been looking forward to it all summer. As soon as we arrived my stomach went nuts, and felt like it was literally twisted in half, I almost passed out and then spent the entire show doubled over on a bed in the first aid room. I lay there for an hour and a half, hearing my favourite songs in the world coming through the walls, literally writing in agony, finally thinking, screw this, I'm going home.
So I walk outside, staggering to the station, and literally as soon as I reach the train station, like a 2 minute walk, I feel absolutely 100% fine. So I headed back to the academy, and they didn't let me back in!
So then I had to stand otuside for half an hour and wait for the show to finish. It was horrible!
I am SO gutted! Show of a lifetime, with all my best friends, so, so gutted... 365 days of the year, and my stomach chooses this one to conk out on me...

Oh no!! This is awful - I'm so sorry for you!!!
I know how you feel. For years, I tried to track down a Tribe Called Quest show. Finally, I caught word that they scheduled a show in DC at a small venue. Long story short -- I travel to DC from NYC, and arrived at the venue and it was OVER!!
Of course, I think most of us on this board would agree that there's not much worse then missing a Beastie Boys show. I missed out on their Brooklyn show so am now flying to Chicago to hopefully ease the pain. I hope they make it back your way before long to help you ease yours :(.

That sucks!
I found myself in the Brixton Academy medical room at the 98 show - I think I banged my head and needed somewhere civilized to throw up - but you're right - it's torture hearing your favourite band playing in the room next door and being too fucked up to get in there. Luckily I only missed a song or two before I recovered enough to carry on - and I only had myself to blame!
Hope you get the chance to see them again soon!

Just read they played egg raid on mojo...I am so angry right now... It would literally have been the best gig of my life. AAAAAAARGH! This is actually the most insanely frustrating and infuriating thing that's ever happened to me.
Ah well maybe only 3 years to wait till they possibly come round again...Dammit.
Egg raid on mojo?!?! WHY!?!?! AAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.I was at the gig and I have to say it was superb.I have seen them every time they have been to London and they are still the best live act around. If it's any consolation I'm sure they'll keep going for a while yet and one day you may just see egg raid live!

ah man I can only begin to imagine your pain...
although due completely to my own fault I nearly felt that pain, got busted 2 songs in smokin my 1 reefer.. thought they were gonna call the fuzz, or at least fine my ass. First guy was proper on it - calling my name in and shit.. but supervisor after a bit of grovelling and goin on bout my favourite band blah blah... was a legend - dunno how or why, but he let me back in with my half pint :D
maybe there is someone on the board who has a spare for this evenin.. or there is always the dirty touts..
my deepest sympathies!
