so it was brought to my attention that elvis costello will be touring with bob dylan this fall. apparently he hasnt toured in like 12 years or something like that.

has anyone seen/heard him live? i am kind of resigned ot the fact that dylan will be halfway incomprehensable but i still think seeing elviswould be worth the ticket price.

what say ye?

I love Dec to death, but his is one of the worst concerts I ever saw in my life.

To be fair, it was called the "Come Back in 1,000,000 Years Tour," so you might say we were fairly warned, but he sucked.

It was for Mighty Like a Rose. I have to believe it was an aberration. But he was bad enough that we left before the encores.

yeah, but that was the absolute worst period of his entire career! most of the concert footage i've seen from that era has been terrible, whereas most of the other stuff i've seen from the late 70's, the 80's, and even 00's, have been great

...worst for live performances? Because I really liked some of the stuff from Spike, Mighty Like a Rose, etc.

He basically played an entire concert of filler. I mean, if a song of his sucked, he played it, so we literally got more than half of Goodbye Cruel World. The only song he seemed kind of invested in was "Hurry Down Doomsday," and that might've been in part because they had some lighting effects for it.

Toward the end, he started playing "hits," but then the choices were painfully obvious, and he ran through them fast with zero energy, just tossing them off. It was awful.

Hell, just a couple years before that was the Spinning Songbook tour. I would've loved to have seen that.
