It's 9 o'clock and I just got Hurricane Mattie to bed about a half hour ago. Mr.peachy is away on business and so I have to clean up the trail of destruction on my own. And I'm tired and I don't want to.

Living with a toddler is like living with some sort of absurdly clever wild animal, like a raccoon or a chimpanzee or something.

You got any socks need sorting? Me and Paul Jones can deal with them.

Socks are like the least of my problems, man.

It's like a goddamn asteroid field in my lounge. Except instead of space rocks it's stuffed animals, newspapers, small shoes and cd's.

i hate tidying up, if it was me i'd just shove everything in the toy box and deal with it another day

Yeah, well, see, the problem is, that's kinda more or less exactly what I did yesterday.

But mr.peachy is coming home tomorrow and I don't want him to come home to a craphole.

He would, but it's not nice, is it. I want him to be happy to be home, not to feel like he wants to turn around and walk back out again, you know? So the place hasn't got to be perfect or anything, but I do want it to be at least reasonably orderly.

Is a cleaning service an option?

I have used Manic Maids once or twice when I've had some extra cash and MAN what a difference! They do the through cleaning and you just keep up with what they did....

Ummm.... thanks, paul, but that lady's kinda scary. Plus also my house isn't smelly, just messy.

ms.crafty - you are right, in principle. But the thing is he will probably get home before I do tomorrow. He'd never complain or have a go at me if he came home and the place is disordered, but I know it wouldn't make him happy. He works really hard and has had to travel so much lately and he's taking a lot of crap at the moment. I can't fix the "work" issues that he's having at the moment; the best I can do is to try and take as much of the "home" stress off of him as I can, if you see what I mean. So I just don't want him walking in tomorrow and seeing just a bunch of more things that need to be dealt with.

But also I don't feel like tidying, so really it's a matter of just deciding which thing I don't want more.
