December 31, 1985 should have been the day they banned childbirth.

Well maybe not banned but enforced a reduction with violence.

85% of kids now are just complete fucking tards. Christ.

I don't think the level of douchebags has risen, you can just step back now that you're older and see the numbers.

I think the douchebag to non-douchebag ratio has risen. It keeps getting worse.

I think December 31, 1986 should have been the day they banned childbirth. Then I am not included in "should have been banned" category.

Douchebaggery in these fucking kids is so pronounced, they'll never grow out of it, and the planet will populated by fully-developed douchebags.

I feel ya man. We should go door to door and pull them out of their houses and beat them like the Chinese did to the dogs. If the parents are hiding them then we should play Blink 182 on the loudspeaker to lure those bastards out. Of course my daughter's cool though.

Oh man, I that was a pretty heartless post but, oh well.

I always wonder though if this is a blip generation. Will all these toolbag kids grow up and suddenly realise "holy fucking shit, we were complete fuckwits" and then swear not to raise kids the same way?

Somethings got to give.

I blame EMO music, the OC and various "hip-pop" such as Souilja Boy.

Or it could be that some kids stepped on LOLs freshly cut lawn ha

The net too...youtube, myspace, message boards allows douches to act as such without fear of getting their ass beat...but really we all know theirs no age limit 4 that

I'm an '86er and I like to think I turned out ok. Although I have to say that I usually thought most of my peers in highschool were douchbags. I was one of the youngest people in my class cause my b-day was right before the cutoff of starting school the next year, and I always thought they were pretty immature. The school wanted me to skip a grade and my mom wouldn't let me :-(

anyway, I got off topic. Yeah, kids today suck. A lot. I think the real problem is that people don't spank their kids anymore.

Last night this little girl was being obnoxious where I work, just a straight up smartass, and her mom took her to the bathroom to smack her. It made me happy. I wanted to smack her, but I'd kinda get fired. Kudos to you lady, for not living in fear or child protective services.

^^^ I agree.

Along with all the hippies against spanking and whatnot I think a big problem is most kids these days have so much handed to them. Never have to really work for anything. Mommy and daddy pay for everything. Also i think many parents try to be 'cool". Thats not cool, now you have raised a D-bag.

True. I don't believe in spanking but I firmly believe in discipline and respect. I feel I'm a nice dad, but not a "I'm just like you" dad. I hate those dickweeds who think they are.

I blame it (social downfall) A) on 'cool parent' hippies who coddle the shit out of their kids and give them everything they want for free and buy them Whole Foods Market everything B) on parents who are acting like irresponsible teenagers and who don't put their kids lives ahead of their own.

Result: a bunch of whiny little crybaby richkids who don't understand the value of a goddamn dollar bill and walk around in expensive jeans and hoochie mama clothes in the middle of the street in front of my goddamn car while I'm trying to drive my kids to school like a decent father. NObody ever taught those kids respect when they were young (the late 90's) and now they are just a bunch of little high-and-mighty douchebags.

Imagine in 10 years: those people will compose the new workforce!  :(

I'm just going to crib this from the peanut butter thread and revise it a bit:

It's amazing how much we just keeping resetting the bar lower and lower so no one ever has to be accountable for themselves, and
no one ever has to feel too bad because they aren't competent.

People have to have the right to fail, and learning from the consequences. Why are kids so bad these days? Nothing is
expected of them, and they feel entitled to everything with zero effort, demanding "respect" for themselves but giving none to others.

although its quite bothersome when people make stupid mistakes in regards to the road, its very enjoyable to be able to freak someone out by coming really close to them or doing whatever it takes to make them realize that what they did probably could have gotten them busted up

i work at a crappy low paying job, i mean, i like my job, for a part time temporary thing, but its the kind of thing where you get paid $7/hr to work a cash register and make sandwiches. ive noticed that of the employeed (i.e. not managers) it seems like really the only ones that aren't totally slack are myself and two much older guys (like in their 30s, i think one is 39). a couple of them are decent but still a little slack, and then the majority act like its a huge injustice that they have to DO WORK at their JOB.

the other day one of the managers told one of the cashiers to restock the bins by the drink machines (lids, straws, plastic cutlery, that sort of stuff) and she said something like "what, are your hands broken?" sometimes i think managers at jobs like that should have the authority to smack the shit out of workers. that wouldn't be PC though. the same girl once got sent home early cause she was standing behind the register talking on her cell phone while there were customers standing there waiting. i told the manager if that happened again he should just snag her phone for the night, because sending her home just teaches her that if she doesnt feel like being there, she doesnt have to.

shit, i wish i could get paid to stand around and talk on my cell phone, but thats not how life works. and that seems to sum up the general attitude of most of the people my age that ive worked with at every job i've had.

i found out today a guy that used to work at my one job applied to work at my second job and i immediatly called up second job and was like GOD NO!!! kid comes to work too stoned to be able to make a sandwich. when he does come to work.

Sometimes it looks like "concerned parents" are too eager to be concerned, they end up picking random stuff to be concerned about.

Earlier this week, New Jersey's The Star-Ledger ran a poll on its "Parental Guidance" blog asking its readers to comment on Wii's upcoming "gun-like remote" which allows Kids to "play shooter games, with, well, a shooter". (quotes and emphasis from original question).

"What do you think about making a wand in the shape of a weapon so play is more realistic?", the question went on. "Is it harmful? Will you buy one for your kids?".

Parents' responses were ,to say the least, strongly biased. LilMissJenny said "I've been trying to keep weapons of any kind away from my son because he knows what they are for." A Grandparent wrote "Nintendo ought to be fined for introducing to 4-9 years old kids a "toy" that promotes guns. The next thing you know they will include an application to the NRA in the game." Another reader asked "What kind of message are we sending as parents when we buy these things for our kids?"

Very few readers adopted a more balanced stance. An unnamed Wii fan asked "those people out there who believe that a gun-shaped remote will turn every kid that touches one into a homicidal maniac" not to ruin the fun for "Wii-playing adults who can handle the reality". The same user added that he "grew up with toy guns and also shot a rifle in the sixth grade and never killed anyone....If you don't think it's a good idea, then please, feel free to exercise your right to protest by not purchasing the product".

this is another reason

that is what is looks like

real menacing!

looks as if all it is, is a holder that configures the remote into a gun shape.

my dad bought me lazer tag guns when I was a kid. now I murder people all the time. I usually use knives though.

I had a family of douches come in to work last night. the parents were letting the two little girls pick custom frames for little pictures they made. it's a long story, but they were very passive aggressive to eachother and the girls were like 6 and 8. the dad said to the one daughter when she couldn't decide, "you have trouble making decisions, you always ask people what they think instead of thinking for yourself". and the kids were rude whiny little jerks. they spent like 300 bucks though, so whatever. stupid rich people.

and the dad never took off his sunglasses.

I absolutely cannot stand heelies, you know, those shoes that have little wheels that come out? I'll be in the grocery store or something when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I see some dumb kid appearing to glide past me. Fortunately most places are banning them due to the level of douche these kids are.

forget about the games
more than 10 of my friends have guns since we were like 16 and they don't play video games.if someone thinks that one game can turn his/her child into a serial killer that's because the parent can't do nothing with his/her child.they blame everything but not themselves like the pregnant woman who was smoking while she was pregnant and she was worried about the effect to her unborn child from the sound of jackhammers?!

yeah, it really sucks when i see my 7 yr old nephew and she is acting like she's walking on water and disrespects older people because her mother don't want to do nothing for teaching the kid to show some respect.she's like "no, i can't slap her", "i can't ban her from something".
