They should have cuffed that tard when he was born just for being called O.J.
This entire thing seems very odd. I was watching CNN last night and they pointed out that one of the victims called OJ about the merchandise and set-up the meeting then recorded and sold the tapes to TMZ. It seems like a set-up. Now, he faces something like 11 felonies and $125 grand for bail. I would think that most people would get misdemeanor charges. I guess the chickens are coming home to roost.

O.J. Simpson: alleged moron, alleged bacteria.

It does seem weird, but how could you count on somebody responding with force and weapons? O.J. says he didn't call the police
because he doesn't get cooperation from police anymore (or something), but that's kind of bullshit, in a way: if anybody ever got lucky
because of due process, it's O.J.

It's like there's a party in the title of this thread and all the ambiguous legal terms are invited.

But, besides the weapons charge, it's the kidnapping charge that's really going to screw him. You can kill someone and wind up with less time
than if you're convicted of kidnapping (I'm fairly sure).

Alleged bacteria? So Simpson's slacking on the hygiene, eh? Thanks for the scoop, fucktop!
Who did he kidnap? I know he took a photo of him with J Edgar Hoover. Maybe he kidnapped J Edgar Hoover and is going to steal some of his dresses.

Wouldn't it be great if in that sports memorabilia he is accused of stealing one of the items was a baseball mitt, then say if it goes to court they bring in the mitt and he is told to try it on, it doesn't fit, then OJ's defense attorney tells the jurors,
If the mitt don't fit you must acquit
Wouldn't that be great?

The "kidnapping" was a technical thing. Someone in the room tried to call 911 and was prevented by someone else who either
brandished or "displayed" a gun. I guess that considered kidnapping, legally.

Yeah, scientists found out that his DNA is really close to the bacteria of salmonella.

It would be fantastic....especially if they exume Johnny Cochran, send him to a taxidermist and OJ uses him as his ventriloquist dummy.

Well, he's gonna have to stand trial.
From CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/11/14/simpson.hearing/index.html):
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- O.J. Simpson must stand trial on charges that could send him to prison for life, Las Vegas Township Justice
of the Peace Joseph Bonaventure ordered Wednesday.
O.J. Simpson sits in a courtroom during his preliminary hearing in Las Vegas, Nevada, Wednesday.
He announced his decision on the fourth and final day of evidentiary hearings in a case stemming from a confrontation in a Las Vegas hotel
room on September 13.
Simpson's two co-defendants, Charles Ehrlich and Clarence Stewart, were also bound over to stand trial.
Simpson also did not respond to reporters' questions as he left the courthouse.
He, Ehrlich and Stewart are next set to appear November 28 before Eighth District Judge Jackie Glass for a felony arraignment.
The former NFL star's legal team "totally expected" Wednesday's decision, said Yale Galanter, one of Simpson's attorneys, after
the announcement.
"The prosecution's burden is slight or minimal," he said.
Simpson, 60, has pleaded not guilty to 12 criminal counts in connection with what prosecutors contend was an armed robbery.
The counts include conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery, burglary, coercion and assault with a deadly weapon.

Latest from CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/01/16/simpson.bail/index.html):
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- A judge doubled O.J. Simpson's bail to $250,000 Wednesday after learning he never paid any money
to a bail bondsman when he initially was released.

O.J. Simpson was flown Friday from Miami, Florida, to Las Vegas, Nevada, and exited the plane in cuffs.
Simpson attorney Yale Galanter said Simpson planned to use his Miami, Florida, home to secure bond. But the judge insisted that he
put down 15 percent in cash -- $37,500.
"I don't want him out of the jail until the 15 percent is paid," said Judge Jackie Glass.

you say luck, i say constitutional right to a trial by jury.
i HATE when people say "oh, you just try to get people out of trouble on a technicality." when i try to point out that the technicality is called the constitution, and if cops overstep in one instance, they'll do it repeatedly, they argue all the way up until someone they know is arrested, and then scream about rights being violated.
it's not a perfect system, but i believe in it. and it worked remarkably well for 2 of my clients today -- one got her case dismissed (cops think she somehow must know how a guy she knew ended up murdered) and the other should be released from jail (he's in on no bond) for an alleged rape he never committed. (note to you men: if an escort has sex with you and then claims you owe her $120, just pay it, rather than her lying that you raped her and you lose your great job because you're sitting in jail on no bond for several months.)

It's got to be illegal in at least 12 states!
