Christ, us Brits are so crap at Halloween. We might carve a pumpkin or two but most of the night is spent with the lights off because we're sick of answering the door to trick or treaters.

Last year was the first time I ever went to a halloween party and it was so embarassing I don't know if I should bother this year. Halloween hasn't really caught on so much here, and my friends and I were the only people dressed up and covered in blood and a bunch of people were scared of us.
Actually, that last part was quite fun...

I don't know what I should wear if I would go. Help meeee.

i pretty much have the clothes (i'll have to buy a blue shirt but those are just generally nice to have anyway), and i have a friend who's gonna hook me up with a polaroid. i'm gonna write "remember sammy jenkis" on my hand and repeatedly introduce myself to people and explain my condition to them when they get annoyed.

at first i thought that it might not work, because people who haven't seen the movie wouldn't get it, but then i realized that those people are going to be the best, because my goal will have to be to convince them that i actually have amnesia. i bet i can do it. last year i dressed up as a mormon and some people thought i was for real (even though i was drinking the whole time)

you have no idea how hard it is to find an orange turtleneck. last time i went as velma, i ended up buying a white one and dyeing it. this time i had searched and searched online and in the mall, and was just about to give up in target when i leaned on a rack while talking to steger, and realized i was leaning on orange turtlenecks. sigh.

they're actually kinda different color oranges, but at this point i do not care. apparently velma's skirt is deep red, not brown, but again, fuck it.

Bob - you should go backwards in costume changes as the night goes on. Like 1/2way through the night go down to a tank-top with a bunch of fake tattoos, then down to that flannel outfit. Keep all the crap in a duffle and carry it around with you. Haha. That will be sweet.

i didn't have time to sew a new costume, and no one that lives around here has seen ours from last year so we're just wearing them again... except this time i actually know how to sew so my dress isn't fraying apart all night. too bad it's going to be freezing like last year, and a short dress/tights aren't warm.

We have been in the moving/unpacking mode and we got the keys to our new house on Halloween afternoon. I picked up a duck costume and we hung out in the front yard meeting neighbors.
