ok guys....here are 2 new Mix-Up versions:

Suco de Tangerina - Biafra (http://beastiemixes.com/download.php?id=1229&chk=105k)

with 130 bpm a bit to fast for some rhymes so I mixed it with Jello Biafra's "grow more pot" from his spoken word record "I Blow Minds For A Living" (http://www.alternativetentacles.com/product.php?product=21). the track is about 13 minutes and I just used 3 minutes for my remix. shame on me!

The Gala Event - Alkaholiks (http://beastiemixes.com/download.php?id=1228&chk=uchk)

the Gala Event mixed with Alkaholiks "Mary Jane". well.... works like charm...

is that a pot related thread now? Honit soit qui mal y pense!

Bassdriver,

I will avoid my tendency to go way too long, I promise...
I know it should not surprise me to find that others share musically diverse tastes, but I would never have imagined that someone would take a cut from a spoken word album from the lead singer of DK and mixed it with a Beastie instrumental. As far as the mix goes, the fact that you are able to reproduce the sounds as accurately as you do is FUCKING AMAZING! In all honesty the reason that I like the mix is because you added something that was important to me. If it had been spoken word by William S. Burroughs, I would have been equally excited. If it had been spoken word by Henry Rollins, I probably would not have bothered to reply. There may not be another person on the planet that grew up as a DK fan and then a devoted Beastie Boys fan (especially considering Jello ripped them on No More Cocoons), but I think it is absolutely an amazing coincidence that you mixed these two tracks. You Chro' and Cosmo continue to amaze me (no disrespect to other mixers). The only thing that I ask is, would you please continue until you have a remix of every track?

OK it seems that I have failed to not be long winded, but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the work you put into the mixes

hey BFL thanks for the kind reply. I got to dig out the no more cocoons LP and check that. I already figured out on Albinis EA forum that lots of (american) indie-underground whatsoever fans hate the beastie boys. probable for being successfull. well I never cared about how many records a band sells as long as they are "real".

I liked DK very much as well as LARD and also JB with the Melvins. his spoken word records impressed the shit out of my.

btw: I thought Henry Rollins' appearance in the "american hardcore" documentary was very cool....no funny. and I like some of his records as well.
