I just got a job as a PA on Dancing with the Stars because Marie Osmond is on it this year. I've never watched the show, but hey, it was an opportunity and I took it because I'm jobless, etc.

She's super nice as well as the dancer who was with Heather Mills last year. And not like, fake nice, like actually nice. We watched YouTube videos for an hour and the rest of the time they practiced and I took notes. wtf, who knows.

Anyway, I'll use this thread to bug you to vote for her if you have some spare time on your hands. YES, I know it's Marie Osmond. But think of it as voting for me and furthering my employment/chance to get to know what I'm doing better. I would do it for you!

I graduated with a film degree but this was just pure luck. I check CraigsList constantly in the tv/film and gigs area because a lot of random stuff pops up (in Utah there isn't a huge amount of things happening so that's why I always check).

The ad just said the guy needed someone ASAP and I was the first who called. But actually he was really nice and said I was much better than other's he'd worked with. I don't know, it was easy stuff.

So yeah, it was pretty much just luck!

I have all kinds of friends from work who watch that show. It's apparently the only thing on TV that's safe for little kids to watch in prime time. I will tell them all to vote for Marie. I even watched some of the shows last season.

So when does it start and how does it work? Do they practice in Utah and then go someplace else for the competition twice a week?

BTW, I suspect that male stars have a much better chance of winning. The women have to do all the more difficult moves. An amateur man can hide a lot more mistakes than an amateur woman. Marie's chances aren't great.

I love Marie. Some of my favorite memories of my older sister (she passed away when we were very young) are of us listening to Donny and Marie records. :o

It starts next week I guess, the women dance monday , guys tuesday, results wed. But that's only for the first week I don't know how it regularly works. I don't know about voting and crap either but I'll post here when I do.

I don't think she will win either but hey the longer she can go the better! She looked pretty good even though she has a bad back.

The dancer dude (who was also insanely nice, no egos at all on these people I swear) was talking about how usually guys win because more chicks watch and they think the guys are hot, which makes sense. I think Marie has a lot of sympathy from women though, being a mom and all that jazz. I mean, they look good to me but I have no idea what the other contestants will look like!

Yeah I think that's how it works, they fly back and forth because just up and moving to LA for months on end is difficult.

They forward me the itinerary for everyone on the show, so yeah everyone, I totally know what Wayne Newton is doing tomorrow. Who wants to touch me?

I see Marie Osmond selling creepy dolls on QVC. She is really nice? Huh?

She went a bit crazy. She had like 6 or more kids went into depression and divorced her husband. I worked at a TV station and a photog that had to interview her one time was commenting about how high maintenance and bitchy she was before the q & a. This was years ago so she must have gotten her act together.

She is a little bit country so I will cast a vote. That is unless Wayne Newton or Mark Cuban just go crazy and breakdance then they have my vote.

Josie Maran is one HOT number so she should win for general hotness.

Marie is really strange (it's obvious that she's been on stage since she was a baby) but she is much better at this than I thought she would be. She was great tonight. (y) I gave her all my votes even though she's not my favorite. ;)

Yeah she's okay, it's the effects of over exhaustion. I get the feeling this woman has been burning the candle at both ends since the age of 16. She's just got an insane schedule already and the show on top of everything else is too much. I've seen it before and it's really scary to watch but hopefully now that so many people saw it she'll take a step back and rest some more. I think she gets like 4 hours of sleep a night or something.
