View Full Version : i have a confession to make
i guess i've been in denial about it for a long time, and i always sort of joke about it but...well i dunno, i guess there just comes a time where you have to come clean...
ok...here goes...hoo boy...
i like disco. i mean i legitimately enjoy it, i like the music, i like the dancing, hell, i even don't hate the clothes, i dunno, part of me kind of wishes i were alive for that fad, i could have got into that.
and it's always kind of weird for me, because disco is so completely gone from popular culture these days, it's fully a joke now. whenever you see disco dancing in a movie or a tv show or something, it's always meant to be funny, and i have to go "haha yeah guys, i'm enjoying this ironically too, man they do look lame doing that, don't they?" but inside, well, i'm actually going "i wish i could do that"
but there's really no point in learning it these days, is there? nobody does disco dancing anymore, nobody who doesn't suck.
phew, it's good to have that off my chest

Bob, I swear to fuck we're soulmates.
Lately I've been listening to disco a lot. I don't know what it is! The beats are really fucking good. And I've had this urge to disco dance.
Some of the songs have great intros. I really like Shake Your Groove Thang.
I'm glad that it's okay to like it since you do Bobby.

you know the last episode of freaks and geeks, where nick does all the stupid dancing? that and the part leading up to it is one of my favorite scenes in any television episode, and even though all the dancing is really goofy i still wish i could do that
although the magic guy is pretty awesome
edit: i also love that joel from mst3k is part of my favorite episode. what are the odds! he hates being on camera

A week ago I went to a party with a 70s theme and there was disco dancing (and a disco ball)! I even did The Hustle.

The Tramps-Disco Inferno is a good song, but that's about as deep as I am willing to go into disco, which is really white people commodifying the shit out of funk and soul.

As long as Rick Dees doesn't enter the picture, you're fine.
Bob, I wish I could get you the Muzak from my neighborhood Vietnamese grocery. All kinds of old disco songs in Vietnamese. I go in there and I'm shopping to Vietnamese Gloria Gaynor and Bee Gees and stuff. (y)
