I don't see why not....the solution to both problems is pretty simple

I don't think mp3 players come big enough to hold all of my music, which is ok I guess anyway because I don't listen to most of it. I think I will buy an Ipod or something later this year though. I have a shuffle which I take to the gym/running, but only 1gig really isn't much. And it's a hassle when I need to get crap off friends computers.

Yeah, I listen to fuck all of it really. I have to keep resetting it or I just get the same old 'random' playlist going on.

It's good to have the music stored in case my comp shits itself.

Hopefully to me is just whether or not I can be bothered.

Maybe I should get an external drive. I always assume people who have them have valuable stuff, though. I just want a laptop for my next PC. I don't really do much that requires a big set up. Just MS Office and Interwebs lol

i think the 160gig is intended for the people who want to keep their music in lossless formats which take up more space. the music collection on my pc is largely in a lossless format(approximately 1000kbps) and it's around 150gig. i convert it to 160kbps when i transfer it to my 40gig mp3 player. it's pretty much full with 7500 tracks.

lossless would be useless if you're just using those shit earbud headphones. you would need higher quality DJ style heaphones to really get anything out of lossless on a mp3 player. it's the same way if you're just using standard pc speakers using your pc for music compared to a decent sound system connected to your pc.

what is it?

yeah

that's probably the out right best pc speaker system. if you can't notice a difference between lossless and 160kbs with that system something is either wrong with your setup or you just don't have the ear for it. if that's the case you've wasted 500 dollars

1000kps is lossless so it retains everything off of the cd so yes it's the same sound quality.

music with a wide frequency range is best
