Amen to that! I don't think they'll go off like they did last week but I definitely think we will win. I'm just worried which version of Anderson is going to show up, last week's or the previous one...

yeah yeah yeah
the franchise has been a mess. it is about time we picked a qb and stuck with him.

Kitna is a beast....with lots of weapons
The Steelers will win the Super Bowl this year. They've outscored their opponents 97-26. May God have mercy on your soul if they play your team this year.

09-24-2007, 08:53 AM
LOL so beating Cleveland, Buffalo, and San Fran makes you Superbowl champs huh?? Good one...
Yes it does. We're only two years removed.
I feel bad for you, though. The Browns got their usual one win of the season so early.
Loppfessor

Man I was just talkin shit....I think you really believe that beating 2 awful teams and one so so team makes you great
The Cowboys are looking great. I think the Cowboys, Patriots and Steelers look the best so far in the season.
On the Fantasy front....the coach that used Kevin Curtis, the Eagles Wide Receiver, should be given the title. In my league the coach that has Curtis had him relegated to the bench. He scored 50 fantasy points all by his lonesome.

If you want a fantasy lock I'll just tell you who I sat this week. That person is almost guaranteed a big game...

Dude, I knew the Steelers were gonna be great this year before they even took the field. Mike Tomlin is the man. Yeah, they're playing shitty teams, but they're destroying them. It's not like they squeaked by like the Colts or Broncos seem to do every week.
hpdrifter
09-24-2007, 10:51 AM
I'm not having faith in my Seahawks this year. They always seem to make the most bizzare mistakes when it really counts. Not sure what happened yesterday but they managed to squeak by. They came out on fire, 73 yard kickoff return. Touchdown in three plays. Shut down Cincinnatti on their first posession. And they played decently after that but they can't squeak by week after week.
Btw, wtf happened to the Bears yesterday?
On the fantasy front, I got killed this week. My stars aren't performing. I don't have anyone super good but my two biggies are Larry Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. They were both ranked high, at least by espn.com, but they're doing nothing. 4 and 6 points this week respectively.
I don't know what to do. I think I'm going to need to do some trading.
Larry Johnson is hurt by a terrible passing game. The opposing team just keys on LJ and the Chiefs are toast.
I have Steve Smith and he scored 1 point yesterday but the week before he got something like 28 pts. Hines Ward also killed my team yesterday. If Smith and Ward would have gotten 10 each I would have won my game. Shit happens in fantasy because it is a coin flip. I would not get down quite yet. Larry Johnson will have more value for a trade after he has a decent game.
I would not worry because Johnson and Fitzgerald will start producing. At least their past would indicate they will be fine.
hpdrifter
09-24-2007, 11:01 AM
I have Hines Ward. I will probably put him in this week, I had Ahman Green in yesterday and he left the game in the first quarter. I have a good feeling about him.
Yeah, I have Jake Delhomme so I was counting on Steve Smith to make some magic with him and get me some points. My opponent this week had Steve Smith. Anyway, it didn't happen. 1 point. Damn.
My opponent this week was pretty unbeatable. I think she ended up with two players scoring over 40. She actually had to players on her bench that scored 30+ points.
I have a solid team but they did not show up this week.
I have----
Matt Hasselbeck
Travis Henry
Thomas Jones
Steve Smith
Hines Ward
Jeremy Shockey
Jason Hanson
I pick up Defenses according to match-ups
My bench--
David Gerrard
Jerricho Crotchery
Heath Miller
Verand Morency--I am hoping he starts playing for the Packers or I am screwed for a back-up RB
hpdrifter
09-24-2007, 11:39 AM
Hasselbeck! He'll get it together. I hope
I've got
Delhomme
Larry Johnson
Ahman Green
Deuce McAllister
Larry Fitzgerald
T.J. Housman..whatever
Bejamin Watson
Panthers D
Adam Vinateri
Bench:
Hines Ward
Warrick Dunn
Reggie Brown
Braylon Edwards
Mike Furrey
Jason Witten
Vince Young
Looks like I'm going to have to put Vince in week 4. Delhomme got injured yesterday.
Vinateri got me 12 points. He outperformed all of my WRs and RBs combined. Deuce better do well tonight.
Braylon had a major game last week. Unfortunately I had him on my bench. Oh well, I won anyway.
Yo, you need to put Jason Witten in and forget about him. That guy is gold as far as TE's go.
hpdrifter
09-24-2007, 11:46 AM
Yeah, I keep fucking that up. I put him in week 2 and he didn't have a great game. But he was great week 1 and week 3.
D'oh!
Well, he is a TE. You're not gonna get stellar numbers out of any of them consistently throughout the season. But I have him in one of my leagues, and he's a godsend.(y)

09-25-2007, 01:05 AM
Man I lost by 2 points this week if I had started John Kitna instead of Jake Delhomme (sp?) I woulda crushed the guy.....last time I follow a gut feeling
hpdrifter
09-25-2007, 10:16 AM
Well I am officially fucked. I renamed my team the NFL Injury Report.
Deuce is probably out for the rest of the season, Ahman Green is injured, Delhomme is injured, Hines Ward is injured.
The Saints imploded last night.
Oh well, my other QB is Vince Young. At least he seemed to have got his shit together last night. Hopefully that wrist thing was minor.

not a big fan, but I'm going to throw out some love for the Steelers, Texans, Saints, and Packers this season, (which is the 2007 season by the way- the only game played in 08 will be the super bowl)
Hines is gonna play. He just has a bone bruise.

Yeah, but what am I going to do on my bye weeks? I need to peruse the free agent roster. I'd trade but I got no one to trade! If one of my Larrys has a good game at some point I'll trade those fools.
Hines is gonna play. He just has a bone bruise.
News: In an interview on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that WR Hines Ward had a knee sprain and is "somewhat doubtful for this week" at Arizona. Ward was injured in the third quarter of a 37-16 victory over San Francisco in Week 3 when he took a helmet to the knee.
Analysis: Expect to be without Ward for Week 4 Fantasy action. Expect Cedrick Wilson and Nate Washington to be more involved in the offense opposite Santonio Holmes.

So I have no QB and no RBs. Bastards.

How much you wanna bet, Yeti?? lol. He's a trooper. He's played through alot worse (severely pulled hamstring and groin AT THE SAME TIME!!!).
I am not taking the chance. I think will will roll out Jerricho Crotchery for the J-E-T-S and put Hines on the bench this weekend. I have Heath Miller on the bench so I am still mulling over whether to go with him or stay with Shockey. Miller might get more looks this weekend if Hines in hurting although Shockey is playing the Eagles and he is due. He made some great catches against the Redskins.
Go ahead and dump Rex Grossman now that he has been benched. Ha!

LOL I hope no one was dumb enough to draft him to begin with..
It's a real shame we weren't able to round up enough people to start a fantasy league this year. I love talkin' smack to you guys more than my friends.

09-27-2007, 11:06 AM
I would have joined if I knew I would get it and be able to participate. I just didn't want to get embarassed. This is my first fantasy football season. Actually, I have only been into football for a couple years.
So I'll get in it next year. We should plan ahead so we can set up the draft right and everything.
That's how we did it, but for some reason, we could only get 4 or 5 people interested this year.:(

I need to do something today or I'm only gonna have one healthy RB.
Hopefully you can pick up Earnest Graham from Tampa Bay. He's been getting some TD's while Cadillac's banged up.
hpdrifter
09-28-2007, 11:55 AM
He is available in my league. Maybe I'll grab him up today. I don't know who I should drop, though. I've got some 2nd and 3rd wide receivers that could go (Mike Furrey).
I also have Warrick Dunn, though he hasn't been doing much. He's playing Houston this week, though and they have a weak D.
If you have 2 D's, drop one. Otherwise, just take whatever position you have the most of and ditch who you think's the shittiest. I hope my advice works for you. I picked up Graham and he's been doing wonders for me, so hopefully he can help you out. Yeah, Dunn's a tough call to cut. He's been such a good back his career, but he's getting up there in years and there's really no passing threat, which makes them a one dimensional team that opponents love. Especially with such a small runningback.
hpdrifter
09-28-2007, 12:07 PM
I only have one D. I guess I'll have to pick one up for the bye week.
I think I am going to drop Mike Furrey, I have 5 better wide receivers. Maybe I'll pick up Earnest.
hpdrifter
09-28-2007, 12:09 PM
By the way, they're saying Larry Johnson will play on Sunday but he's still listed as questionable. Should I start him?
Ugh, that's tough call. They're playing San Diego, right? The Chargers are gonna put some shit together at some point and Damon Huard's shit the bed thus far. It's kinda the same shit with Dunn, they both play for teams that can't pass, so D's just focus on not being beat by the run. But, instead of a fading RB who's getting into his twilight years, it's an awesome younger guy who's banged up. I wouldn't. Plus, KC's O line is horrid.
hpdrifter
09-28-2007, 12:38 PM
So I should start someone else?
Fuck. I need to get an RB stat.
Should I keep Larry Johnson or trade him? I got a trade offer for Deion Branch, which would be cool cuz he's a Seahawk and I don't have any Seahawks.
Larry will get his eventually. Herm Edwards loves to run his runningbacks "until the wheels fall off." He's too talented to not get over 1000 yards.
Yikes, that's right, you're a Seahawks fan. I've met a few and they've all been hung up on Super Bowl 40. You seem cool, though. I don't expect any animosity.:D
hpdrifter
09-28-2007, 04:12 PM
Nah, no animosity. More against Rex Grossman for taking us out of the running last year.
Oh well, look at him now...
The offer is actually to trade Larry Johnson for Deion Branch AND Jay Cutler. I feel I should do it.
No way. I'm taking that you drafted LJ as your stud RB. If you do want to trade him, you should definitely look to get at least another RB in exchange along with a WR, QB, or whatever you need. But, I wouldn't advise getting rid of him. The worst feeling in fantasy football is letting someone go and then watching them blow up and Larry has the talent to do just that.
hpdrifter
09-28-2007, 04:26 PM
Yeah, that's what my bf said too. I know his schedule is going to get easier. And he is my highest ranked player. I'll keep being patient with him though he and Fitzgerald have been a huge disappointment.
Oh well, at least Delhomme has been a nice surprise. Probably more to do with Steve Smith but I'll take it.
That bf of yours is a keeper.(y)

10-01-2007, 10:47 AM
Well I actually did okay this weekend. I picked up Joey Harrington from the free agent roster because I didn't have a QB this week (one injured, one Bye) and he did a respectable 16 points. Once again Larry Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald did nothing.
I won already this week but I'm gonna watch Housh play tonight.

Well well well....Shittsburg finally plays a decent team and look what happened. They couldn't even "squeak" out a win like the Colts and Broncos do every week....:D
Their divisional record is still intact and the way Baltimore and Cincy is playing, we'll steamroll over them, kinda like what they're gonna do to your Browns when they come to Heinz Field.
I'm not making any excuses, but it's hard to win when your two best players are on the sidelines, you keep getting costly penalties, and your receivers that need to step up can't catch a pass to save their lives.

^ we shall see dude we shall see.....
LOL. Yes, you will. Maybe it's from the years upon years of disappointment, but I find it hilarious that the Browns win a couple and sparks these delusions of grandeur. Okay, you beat Cincy. Wow, they probably have a want ad out in the newspaper asking for defensive help and Baltimore isn't shit anymore. McNair should be in an old folks home eating pudding 3 times a day. I don't see Arizona as a credible team at all. Pittsburgh would've lost to a Pop Warner team and lost with all those penalties on 3rd and long. Anyway, my calender will be marked for that game. I just wonder what Cleveland's record is at Heinz Field. Hmmmmmmm.
marsdaddy
10-03-2007, 12:52 AM
You can't call the Cardinals a decent team. Maybe well formed, but not decent. I mean, AZ lost to SF -- a truly putrid team. The AZ coach was an assistant for the Steelers last year, so that might have had something to do with the win.

Alright I was trying to be a bit nice but now more....you're right AZ isn't a very good team but instead of just admitting you to beat you gotta make all sorts of excuses (typical Steeler fan) rather than just admit you guys got beat plain and simple. Of course there were mistakes and things that coulda been done better but umm duh....that's usually why teams lose. You never hear bout teams playing a perfect game and losing....does that change the fact that they lost? Nope!
Meanwhile the biggest difference between Cleveland and Pittsburge is the direction they are heading. I have no delusions of greatness or anything like that. I know The Browns have a LOT of work and are missing some key components. The difference is we are on the upswing and Pittsburg is on the decline...your "two years removed" crap doesn't mean shit. In fact it's just typical Steeler livin in the past garbage. Your talent level is dropping and the team as a whole is on the way down
We were missing 3 perennial pro bowlers (Hampton, Ward, and Polamalu). I'm not making excuses, I'm giving reasons. Yeah, they lost. I wasn't expecting them to go undefeated. Everyone around here didn't know what to expect with a new coach. All of the sports radio djs were saying that if the Steelers could come out of the first five games at least with a record of 3-2, they would be sitting pretty. It looks like they're gonna top that because they are definitely not going to fold to the Seahawks at home after such a disappointing loss. So, yeah, I'm impressed with the Browns. They've already helped my team out quite a bit, but if you think the division is going to end up with any other team on top, you're nuts.
I love how Browns fans and Steelers fans are always in a pissing match.
It's encoded in our DNA. Thankfully, I'm on the favorable side of it. Oh, Lopp, have you seen that pic of Brady Quinn and a bunch of his buddies grabbing each other's dicks, yet? It's a great snapshot.

This week was brutal. I'm positioned to win but my opponent has a QB playing tonight so no guarantees. Of course, its Eli Manning and he'd have to get 56 points.
LaDainian put up 44 points, Adrain Peterson (who?) put up 35 or something.
I was happy cuz my studs have finally started doing something. Housh, 26, Larry Johnson 17, Braylon 24.
Big numbers this week.
Drew Brees was available in my league last Friday and I didn't grab him. Then that bastard decided to play well last night. Against my team.
So embarassing.

This sounds fucking scary.
From IMDB:
Camera Crashes on Field During NFL Telecast
In what might have easily turned into a tragedy of the first order, an overhead television camera, remotely controlled on wires, came
crashing down onto the playing field during NBC's telecast of the New Orleans Saints/Seattle Seahawks game in Seattle Sunday night.
Luckily the incident occurred during a time-out, but nevertheless, the camera crashed just yards from the huddling Seahawks team.
After the camera was lifted again, it fell once more, this time nearly hitting receiver Bobby Engram as he was walking off the field. After
a ten-minute delay, an NBC crew hoisted the camera into position again, tested it, and the game resumed. It remained over the Seahawks'
bench for the rest of the game. The long delay may have contributed to a huge ratings decline for the Sunday-night football telecast, which
averaged a 6.8 rating and a 13 share from 8:30 to 11:00 p.m., a season low. By contrast, an overrun of CBS's telecast of the Patriots/Cowboys
game at 7:00 p.m. averaged a sensational 18.5/26, peaking in the 7:00 p.m. half hour with a 19.9/25.
