Epilepsy?

So I had to check in my camera for the Beastie Boys show in Toronto last night. I protested that no where on the ticket or event promo did it say that cameras were prohibited. However the lady at guest services said that the band requested the ban because "the drummer" has epilepsy

Is this true, or just a cop-out? And is she referring to Mike D or Alfredo Ortiz? They both wear sunglasses during their shows.

yeah it's Adam who is epileptic, but last time I checked he was on meds and fine?
I mean, you cant be in the music business for 20 years and not get your picture taken. I dunno, maybe it's SUDDEN flashes that effect him? Im not too up to date on that.

I took pictures at the show I went to...so...its true about one of them being epileptic however it might have been a cop out as well. It usually depends on if the venue allows cameras.

Yeah, thats what im thinking because im SURE he doesnt have a problem with flashes... He cant. It's not possible for him to be in the biz and have that big of a problem with flashes...

I know the Riv down here will not let you take pictures unless you're crafty like me, and know proper camera-sneaking ediquite. (sp?) :p

like i said in the other thread, its a venue policy to not let anyone use a camera with a flash.
even people with press pass can never use flash

I dunno, I read the skills to pay the bills book, and inside it said that Yauch and Horovitz (probably egged on by RR) were seriously thinking of kicking him out.
Mike was the coolest guy at that time. He had the best fashion taste!
