I was playing with 20 month old daughter on Saturday in one of those inflatable playground things (http://www.kangaroojacs.com)..I saw her fall over some inflatable bars and heard her crying so I ran into get her..a hug and she's better, so I figured we'd try to go down the slide (http://www.kangaroojacs.com/inflatables_07.html)..I'm clutching her on my left arm and start climbing the slipper square rungs, we almost make it to the top and my foot slipped, as I'm falling backwards I feel my foot twist backwards under me, my daughter was fine....I lay motionless for a bit while she bounced and some bratty kids jumped on me and over me to get to the slide. my cell phone cut off when I dialed for help. I thought I'd be fine.

Anyhow, it turns out that I have a severely sprained left ankle. :( Now I have crutches...so boarding the plane will not be fun. I have general admission tix to both shows and I want to be close to the front of the stage/band but don't want to be trampled...not sure what to do here. I was hoping to meet up with the other board members but now I will be at a slower pace than them. I was going to film myself for the documentary but that might be impossible on crutches. any advice?

So sorry to hear that. I hope you have fun at the show anyway.

Ouch...just take it slow.

You can document whether Beastie Shows are handicap-friendly. :)

Shit, if you'wd've gotten that fall on video, you would have made the Bboy vid and America's Funniest Home Vids.

thanks for the well wishes. I'll see what I can do about filming. I'll get some venue practice tomorrow night for Bob Dylan/Elvis Costello, I'm seated in the floor section for that so we'll see how I can wobble down the steps to get to it.

Wow! Tough break but on the bright side, I think you just solved our problem of how we can all find each other - look for the guy with crutches :D.

But seriously, hope the travel goes OK for ya. (And I hope you didn't leave finding a hotel til the last minute like I did.)

I could ditch the crutches and just claim that "nothings wrong with my leg, i'm just bboy limping". i booked my hotel in august and i guess i got the last room at the Hyatt since i tried to change the dates and nothing was available. good luck on the hotel.

true..i'll keep you in mind. "Nothings wrong with Dave's leg, he's just b-boy limping"........I see that airlines don't allow crutches.
