awesome! I wonder if they did the regular "Riot Fight" or turned it into "I Wanna Ride My Bike", it goes to show they must've read the boards and saw the discussion on Professor Booty. I'd like to hear them do "Michelle's Farm".....they did something similar to the later shows on the Check Your Head tour..I saw them in August '92 but scoping the bootlegs videos from May - November '92 it seems the setlist changed a lot towards the end.

This was my fifth time seeing the beasties live, and besides the Brooklyn show this might be the greatest one. I might actually lose my job because I had to call in sick to go to this show (so I definitely cant go to tomorrows show).
Here is a little review of my experience
Security was tight, I have been to a lot of concerts and have never seen security this tight before. I think it is because of new owners. (the building is owned by livenation now), before when it was the state theater security was relaxed. I did not understand why the security was so tight especially since tomorrow they are letting people bring cameras. I tried to take a few vids and pics with my camera phone but as soon as I busted it out security threatened to confiscate it.
Crowd
Weren’t really that much people dressed to impress. I saw another guy there wearing a blue tuxedo; he said he went to the two Colorado shows. He showed me his shoe that he got autographed from all three beasties. Other than him I saw maybe two or three other people dressed up, the rest were just normal concert goers. I was wearing the same thing I wore at Hammerstein: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11283659@N05/1089430920/ I also was waving a Canadian flag around. I actually got ad rock to give a shout out to Canada (just like at Hammerstein) There wasn’t any real hardcore fans there, just a lot of casual fans.
Opener
The beasties had this woman perform a few songs. Her style was similar to bjork’s. She was cool didn’t catch her name though.
High lights
-Riot fight
-Allright hear this baseline during sabrosa
-Rhymin’ & stealin’
-Ad rock screwing up during pass the mic
- at one point I kept on shouting to yauch to play flute loop and he kept on asking me what I was saying and actually jumped of the stage and came up to me to hear what I was saying. Then they played paul revere and yauch walked in-between the crowd and the stage for a bit.
-The sound problems that yauch was having with his base during shambala was amusing
-Ad rock giving a fans radio show a free plug
-Mca wishing a girl in the front row a happy birthday
-The beasties telling everyone to move back and relax (they did this a couple of times)
-The beasties interaction with the crowd, I was so close that I was able to talk to ad rock a couple of times.
Leaving the show and hearing a whole bunch of people say: “that was the greatest concert I have ever seen”
Professor booty
I was freaking out when they played this song. I can not believe they played it. The song was not flawless, They screwed up some parts, and mike was reading the lyrics right off a piece of paper, MCA killed it during the 3rd base diss at the end. It was amazing hearing a song they never played before. Right after professor booty they did the chorus from some dumb cop gave me two tickets.
This was my fourth show on this tour (the other being the three in new york) and I have to say that this was right up there with the Brooklyn show. Maybe it was because it was so close to home or maybe because of the ultra rare set list or the fact that there wasn’t any moshing during sabotage. All I have to say is that it was an amazing show and if get fired from my job for calling in sick then I will be there tomorrow rocking out.

If it turns out that I can make it to the final gala show, I would give ANYTHING for a set list like that. I know they enjoy playing the stuff from the new CD, but I want the old screwy stuff. Please. :o

i would really love to quit and just go to the gala show, if I didnt see the beasties @ hammerstein then i would have for sure.
I also want to thank the beasties for going out there and putting on an awesome show, my friend who went with me, said that he has never seen a band that interacts with the fans the way the beasties do.

That's great for Detroit fans, but I have to be honest. I'm upset I never heard this song live considering, imo, it is one of the best Beastie Boys songs. :(
I'd have really appreciated hearing Professor Booty live at some point in my several years of attendance at b-boy concerts.

Hey! Do you think this was what the Boys were expecting FAN ANGER to be about- that they would perform a fantastically tight tour with a fairly robotic (though as previously stated hella tight) setlist, and then at the eleventh hour decide that the thing that had been missing from this kick ass tour was to throw in a new forgotten gem every night of the last few shows? Those fucking devious genius's! If I wasn't so mad, I'd be laughing myself silly. (in a very sarcastic voice)OHHH look at us, where the beastie boys, how can we generate more FAN ANGER???
God damm genius jerks.

No, I don't think so.
I do think it would be nice to see and hear them perform this song though.

Same thing happened at the end of the pageant tour. They pulled out some stuff we hadn't heard dozens of times. I suspect that after touring for a few months they decide it would be fun to change it up a bit, and they have to be completely comfortable with the songs of the new CD by now, so they can focus a bit of energy on some oldies.

What is Riot Fight?
It's an extremely short clip of "punk".
No offense to the people who get excited about this stuff, but I sure don't get the excitement over Riot Fight. Yes, I also own all the oddball Beastie recordings (in vinyl too), and it's cool to say that you heard something that everyone doesn't hear, but it's not a "song" that I'd have requested.
You're completely justified in saying "OMG, I heard rhymin & stealin" though. :p

They played it in '98 at Rosemont. That show had an amazing setlist and it's not available on Beastiemania. That's a damn shame.
I'm sure they'll do something nice for the Chi.

I am glad to say that Ive heard Professor Booty, Riot Fight, and Rhymin and Stealin, live. Mike D went Acapella for a while on Professor Booty, right?Shambala was real cool too. I floated up to the cieling on that one.
Did any one here the kid after the show screamin '911 was an inside job'?
I want to hear 'Alive' next time(greedy)!!

I'm putting up a bunch of videos on Youtube from the Detroit Gala Event (night 2). Here's the link to my account:

It was a grrrrrrrrrrrrreat show! Almost everyone was dressed up. They sounded great and were having a good time as usual. Lots of crowd interaction. Wish we could have a Gala Event once a month.
