Don't disrupt the peace on private property, try complying with security and you'll probably be okay.

Sure, just tow the line and don't get off course, your in the land of the free. Right? Land of the free, if your willing to pay the price of dissent. Because dissent is not free, only towing the line. That part is free.

The whole freedom of the press thing is only for the the corporate freedom.Taser this, F*ck Bush (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/09/25/politics/main3294700.shtml)

Your a looney if you disagree, dark stuff, very dark.

Questioning authority? Give me a break. That guy had zero interest in legitimate discourse; that was feeble, paranoia-as-quasi-Dadaist
performance art shtick at best. You've got every right in the world to do that, yep, and security has every right in the world to
remove you. Resist removal and they have every right to use increasing force. Fuck that guy.

You guys are acting like he's fucking Thomas Paine or something instead of the jerkoff that he obviously is. He sounded about one step
away from the ravings of some mentally ill guy drooling in the park pushing his grocery cart. Use some common sense.

Thank god the sane politicians are watching out for us, i feel much safer now. Everybody has a right to ask questions, he had his right. Not once did he declare violence or show any form of physical intimidation.

He was talking.

ABCDEfz, i think you have a wrong perception of the issue here, the guy was expressing himself, i can admit he was not very relax and pretty much agitated, still he had the right to finished his question and he deserved an answer. Nope, they shut him off before he finish because they knew were he was going. This question was really uncomfortable for Kerry, so... they take him out. They didn't have the right to remove him when he was only speaking his mind. And his resistance toward this absurd abuse of power is legitimate, i would have done the same.

It is not fuck this guy, you should say fuck those fucking assholes of cops.

Yeah I guess that swiftboating thing must of yank the nads right out of Kerry's pea brain, way to stand up for your fellow countryman. durrrrrrr

Yeah; it's such an outrage that the people there at the event were applauding his exit and laughing at him. The temperature of that room was hardly indignant -- I don't hear anyone rising to his defense. Intimidated? Hardly. Relieved that the nutjob was being escorted out? Yup.

I know that "liberal" is misunderstood to mean "'The Man' Is Always Bad," but that's actually not the case.

It is certainly an outrage to see citizens not being supportive of him. People were too scared , i am sure a lot of them though like some of us are presently thinking but remain silent in fear of coercion. This is was an assault to freedom of expression.

Ridiculous how much people are acting like this guy is a hero.

Ridiculous how little people know about him and the event before they start expressing their opinions.

Ridiculous that this is even still going besides people just saying "Don't TASE ME BRO!" as a joke.

well, i don't think he is a hero and actually i don't think he is very intellectual but...i stand my ground by saying that they act like a bunch of fucking retards.
Ridiculous how little people know about him and the event before they start expressing their opinions
.

I don't care about him, his past stunts does not interest me, what interest me is what did take place that day, stunt guy or not, the question was not bad and the reaction toward it show that it clearly make somebody not comfortable.

Ridiculous that this is even still going besides people just saying "Don't TASE ME BRO!" as a joke.

I don't see the funny thing in it and i have a good sense of humor. Maybe you will find this less funny , if one day it is you who are being ''TASE''.
People should stop being careless and start think about what going on.

Lost cause ....

I don't agree... This could happen in a lot of other countries and that's the bad new... I mean, it's really rear, I don't understand how people in this place can let the scene taking place (haem..) whithout any reaction: this is the most irritating, no?(n)

Why not 'fuck Kerry'? He had control of the audience. He could have told everone to let the man speak. Who was really in charge or this event? The cops went too far but the guy was a bit of a spaz.

i don't think he did have control of the audience. in fact he was asking them to let the guy ask his question, you can hear him in the background pleading for sanity in his own boring, kerry-esque way

A poll in the Washington Post pretty much sums up what I believe to be true, 47%, the overwhelming majority of readers polled, believe this statement best fits this instance,

This incident is “an assault on reason itself.” America has become a police state and this is evidence of that.

Check it out. Zapping Free Speech (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/offbeat/2007/09/andrew_meyer_free_speech_and_t_1.html)

I'm not too sure if I'm following your logic. A lot of different things happen in the course of a day, murders, rapes, extortion, theft and physical assaults to name just a few.

What I'm trying to be perfectly clear of is this, my Freedom and Liberty is protected by police as is yours. Not the other way around. I am not fully convinced the actions on this video prove anything other than poor judgment. Yet the actual assault with the taser appears to be illegal. That is the frightening part of this video.

In this town, Seattle, the fucking riots would still be rolling. Test us.

Bob

riots should help, yeah

yeahwho
09-26-2007, 05:57 PM
riots should help, yeah

Actually the riots have kept many a government and corporate convention out of town. Whenever the President (he gets money from rich folks across the lake) comes to town they bypass city limits. Going straight to the burbs of Lake Washington.

So yeah, the riots sort of keep the riff raff to a minimum of peddling they're idiotic bullshit on wars, government control and corporate welfare here in Seattle.

It helps.

Bob
09-26-2007, 06:02 PM
so you think a riot is what seattle needs to reduce police brutality?

yeahwho
09-26-2007, 06:09 PM
so you think a riot is what seattle needs to reduce police brutality?

Actually that has already happened here. We've had several riots this past decade, a few with deadly results. A major review of our police department was put into place and the result so far has been largely positive. I do not think this man would of been tasered here on our campus at the U of W. The incident would not of happened in the same fashion.

Your asking a question that jumps to the conclusion that I think a riot is the solution to police brutality, no I think legal process is the solution. I'm just saying that we've have a very low tolerance for the police acting as they did in that video. I've lived in Seattle long enough to know that we're a touchy bunch of bitches.

Boston is cool, I have a friend living in Cambridge and whenever he visits I ask him what he wants to go out and do, he always says with a straight face, "Lets have an evening of Sex and Violence".
