Hey you smokey…..I find myself creeping back into smoking at work….I’m up to 3 a day...my logic being that I’m under stress, fall is wicked busy for me….so, I relieve stress by participating in a habit that raises blood pressure and heart rate?......aghhhh…..let’s go hack one….the smokers here are getting sick my bumming so I hope you’ve got a deck…..:o

I left my smokes at home for 8 months, which worked ok. No cigs before 6 or 7 o' clock... Now I'm bumming one every lunch. :D

I almost always leave my cigarettes at home, too.

Added benefits include:

1) Not smelling like smoke in an office space shared with non-smokers; and

2) I'm not smoking at the bus stop, so no one's bumming cigarettes off me because they didn't bring their own damned pack. :)

I hate smoking. But the anti-smokers crusade gives me the indignation NOT to quit. It's crap, they're everwhere and I feel like I'm shooting up H in public every time I light up. I respect that it's not nice to smoke around other people ESPECIALLY babies and children, and do my best to get out of the way, but it's like, no one likes you smoking ANYWHERE anymore. I can't smoke in any of the cities main triain stations (which are massive and going in and out of them while waiting for connecting trains is just inpractical), I can't smoke in open air bus stops, I can't smoke in the pub, club or bar. I can't smoke OUTSITE eateries. The governments' banning smoking practically everywhere is like the vatican trying to stop aids with abstinence.

More designated smoking areas, I say. Employ smokers and make them sign indemnity agreements (against contracting smoking related illness) and work in bars, restuantrants etc that are exclusivley for smokers.

As if my taxes don't compensate for my habit. I hate the government.

And yes, ''social smokers'' that are constantly bumming smokes off me because they're ''not smokers only have one every now and again so there wouldn't be a point'' well yes there would, actually.

The ban on smoking in this city has been in for about a year....people still smoke, just out infront of the pub/club....the result being 1000's of butts tossed on the sidewalk, every night....nasty......what's bullshit is that casino's and bingo halls are exempt.....as you would'nt want to discourage addicts from their addictions while emptying their wallets......(n)

Rewriting is a sin, Bill. It's a sin.

I'll pass on the smoke, for now, though. I don't smoke during the day.

I understood writing could be dangerous.....I didn't realize the danger came from the machinery....and not to mention smok'nis bad for that rib rehab....(y)

Yeah, I know.

I have these deep-breathing exercises, but.... yeah.

If there's a good side to this, it's that: I'll quit smoking. I'd rather quit smoking than have to quit lifting.

I smoke a couple of cigars at work every week. Used to smoke them daily but it got to be too much. It is my favorite place to smoke. We have options of smoking in a well ventilated warm shop or out on a deck with a 360 degree view of Puget Sound, it's great!

I would love to be able to go to a nice club and smoke...but it is illegal to have a bar that allows smoking in WA. ST. since 2005. I'm an outlaw.

It's ok if you only smoke menthols because i don't even consider them completely real cigarettes. they dont' seem as bad for you. it's like a cool breeze in your throat.

The smoking bans are brilliant. I like being able to move around train stations without copping a faceful of smoke and dance at clubs without being burnt or having holes burned into my clothing.

I have nothing against smokers as such, but I think it's just plain inconsiderate to smoke in a public place. I spend money on perfume to smell like perfume when I get to work in the morning, not like I've stood next to half a dozen smokers trying to squeeze in a couple more drags before they're due to start.

I suppose I just don't get why people smoke in the first place. Once the whole "omg I'm really really cool" smoking underage thing wears off...I can't see the attraction. It makes you smell bad and affects your health - and you're paying for the priviledge. How do you justify that?

You know I’ve never been burnt on a dance floor by someone smoking; I have however had drinks spilt on me a couple of times…..maybe they should ban drinks from the club next……I never smoked to try and establish any type of image or fit a clique, it’s always been about the taste and the high….if anything is responsible for the beginnings of my social habit, it was watching my father and grandfather, take a cigarillo with brandy after dinners…....the best part of the ban for me is that you can EAT without having your olfactory senses fuck up your pallet…...and from a workers rights/health and safety perspective I support it fully, completely…..there is no argument……

Say what?....I went to a restaurant called Il Bistro at the south end of Pike Place Market last year, with wicked food, wine and a nice cigar menu and a little lounge to indulge….exception to the rule?

You could go to a dancing school. Normal people only go to clubs to hit on the opposite sex. It's much easier to do that while smoking than simultaneously doing mongo dance moves.

yeah i agree and many die/become sick just from the passive smoking
wonder why it took so long to ban that shit (n) why should i pay for other peoples stupid habits

MC Moot makes a good point about drinks being spilled at clubs, but the difference is that someone's burbon & coke washes out of a $300 top, cigarette burn does not.

Anyway. I go to clubs to drink, socialise and dance. What's so abnormal about that?
