If you haven't seen this video already, check it out. This is true hip-hop, shows what it was all about before all these fags started babbling about crack and cars in monotone voices.

Indeed, I wish Finesse was on Percee's new album; instead, there were a bunch of average rappers.

This was taken in 2003. A video with the same two guys, Lord Finesse and Percee P, having a rap battle. I believe it was filmed on the same block, even.

That's some nice shit right there. Few and far between in hip hop at this point. Nice find.

although i have to ask, why is this a "legendary" battle? i mean, it's awesome to watch and sounds great, but it's hardly a battle isn't it? i mean, it's all very obviously written and memorized, with their boys doing the punch-ins and shit.

It's mostly legendary cuz it's Lord Finesse and Percee P, who are legends, but also because I have heard it talked about as a classic example of a hip hop battle but never been able to actually see/hear it before.

It's cool, but it seems like a concept more than a battle. Like a way to put music out without actually going to the studio, on a street level. I don't know. They're legends, but it's like a pro-wrestling battle to me. But it rules, anyway.
