Sorting out the online stuff is a bit shit. You have to register a profile at EA, and then link it up to your Live gamertag. You get emails to do so, but they tend to go all over the place. Just use the email account that Microsoft uses to send you stuff, I think.

You can play this game a hundred different ways. Here are my videos. Its awesome that you can keep finding new spots. I find a place I haven't skated before, and spend like 2 hours on it. Anyway:

I'm addicted to this game. THE most realistic skateboarding game ever. Tony Hawk is going to have to step his shit up big time. EA really pulled this shit off right.

Is this game anygood? I've seen some quite decent reviews, but towards the end of each review the each writer seems to point out obvious flaws like getting stuck in tight places (needing a get off the board function), or framerate issues and the difficulty curve...I've skated since I was five so I love my skating, but I can't decide between skate or stranglehold!!!! (I'm on a one game a month budget these days, so each month is a tough decision)

getting stuck is a bit annoying but you get out of it if you use a little patience (which i never have when i get stuck). its worth it. its the closest game to real skating.

There are some flaws, but the overall game engine seems to make you forget them pretty readily.

the only things that annoy me are getting stuck in small gaps and the skate reel thing lol

With that in mind I would recommend it to anybody who skated for any period of time in their life.

Where abouts are you in regard to that reel problem?

Planetary

Yeah, the skate forums, i think. If you sign into your EA profile (which you might be able to do) you can then go to link profile (memory is hazy, sorry) and it will give you a choice 'link gamertag'. Sorry I can't be more precise, memory is fucked.

This game is just amazing. When Kid P was hyping it I thought "yeah it could be good" but had no idea it could be this good.

I only got my new 360 last saturday but this has been keeping me off the Haloez. Been mainly freeskating around and not doing much of the challenges but had a good session at them yesterday and opened up the Plan B park.

Amazing scenes. Sadly I cant show you them cause the EA site licks my bawlz.

We should play online sometime. Big Gus73 - I suck but I try my best.

Here's a friends compilation - crap youtube quality but he's incredibly sick at this game. Especially his mental drops.

Is anyone doing Career Mode?

I can't nollie tre flip to grind on that ledge to impress Rodriguez, and its pissing me off. Its the only thing I don't have done until the next set of challenges come along and I probably spent an hour and half trying to hammer it down last night. Fucking frustrating.

I wish I had an answer for you, man. You just need to dial spinning your thumb and cutting back up (or down in this case) to flip. Practice 360 flips upside down. I got it eventually. I'm pretty bored of career because you have to do the Tony-Hawks style tricks to pass most of the filming challenges. So I'm just rollin.

I finished it today and, wow, it was amazing playing this game. I'm pretty average at it but it's so fun to play. It's taken me 4 weeks and, according to my stats, 17 hours. Gonna get plenty more out of it online. Really like "own the spot".

I only got frustrated on a few of the challenges and when I beat them I was like *fist pump*. Amazing scenes. I'll definately play through it again sometime in a "games drought".

Here's me doing the pro challenge at the DIY park where you transfer through the window. 360 heelflip to grab to tailgrind to reverse 180 hardflip.

Ooh. http://skate.share.ea.com/profiles/32957/posts/507720.aspx

Go to your EA profile and change your territory from UK/Europe to USA then resubmit your gamertag.

I got my verification email instantly that way.

Hey can you guys help me try and tee up some online shit in the next week or so? I tried it for the first time last night, and it wasn't bad. I want to skate the Gauntlet online. That's my favourite spot. Can we do that? Your favourite spots are most welcome, too.

Also there's a couply gaps I just can't stop playing. They're nothing special but just cool looking. One is around by Snake's bank (Downtown) and is just two elevated platforms over a walkway. It'd be sweet for games of SKATE.

Oh yeah, it's zebbedee

Nice vids. I've added you. I've been playing this a lot online. put it on at 9pm last night and was still playing with some friends at 5.30am! I'm only really down for spot battles or spot races. I'm not fond of SKATE.

^^Nice.

So it's pretty much close to game of the year for me. I don't know how well it sold, but I'm sure it brought a lot of ex and present skaters out of the woodwork.

There's a few things I'd like to see in skate.2, though: Night-time would be cool, as would being able to drag picnic tables around and kicker ramps (within reason, say only at schools), and making the hats not look so LOL. Also, some sort of physics compensation or animation adjustment for switch skating, perhaps with a style selection for switch. Sometimes it happens accidentally in the animations.

Is it just me, or are some of the rails just pointless? Like you can't hit them at all because they're too steep and short?

ROFL.

I took an online survey and said the replay feature needs to let you string together short parts of multiple clips to build a section.

I don't really like the online much, but only because I can't find local players, so iit laaaags the fuck out. Although not as hard as real life, that back noseblunt was harder to do than it looks.
