a better golfer takes his or her average score and basically gives a few strokes to the golfer that isnt as talented...


it provides for a more competitive match between a pro and an amateur...

its not really useful because only idiots bet big money against golfers who are that much better than them and usually the better player will offer a stroke or two anyway because then know they will win.
