I remember when it first came out it reminded me of the opening to NY state of Mind. I don't know if you're joking or not, but that song was doing big things when we used to get fucked up as teenagers.

flava in ya ear is possibly my favourite easy mo bee beat, followed by temptations by pac, another victory by kane, ready to die by biggie, everything remains raw by busta etc etc

Isn't this pretty much in everybody's top 10 beats? You can't take credit for providing this kind of regurgitated insight. Anyway, yeah, D-Dot was indeed a filthy producer in those days. And the sample he flipped was so happy/disco.
While we're on the topic of grotesquely repugnant beats from the jiggy era, Money, Power & Respect and Mase's Take What'sYours were similarly in need of a bath. Just nasty. Gross.

Benjamins is a shit beat, most overrated hip-hop beat ever. Plus Puffy pretty much farted all over it, from his mouth.

i think it's a good beat, but far from a great beat, and even further away from touching a list of the top 200 beats let alone top 10.

Diddy is just a cheesy helm, it's hard to enjoy any beat with him slobbering about all his "close male friends" on it, probably fondling his balls at the same time.
Although I was mildly impressed by his contribution to the I Get Money Forbes 1, 2, 3 remix. The whole "Diddy did it" thing actually made me laugh out loud.

yeah..well..take solace in the fact that he didn't write it...so it's not to bad to like it..

Has Diddy ever written his own lyrics?
adam_f
10-11-2007, 06:14 AM
He claims to have written 50% of his last album, and I know Pharoahe Monch wrote some of them too. The only question is why the hell Pharoahe Monch would choose to ghostwrite for fucking Diddy.
Lex Diamonds
10-11-2007, 06:28 AM
Yeah I know Pharoahe and Royce da 5'9 have written for him, although you can tell they don't give him any of their "A" material.
