"Itsy Bitsy Spider" (also known as "Incy Wincy" or "Eency Weency Spider") is a popular nursery rhyme that describes the adventures of a spider as it ascends, descends and reascends the downspout or "waterspout" of a gutter system (or, alternatively, the spout of a teapot).

that is by far the most politically correct description of a nursery rhyme i've ever read in my life

presumably this is europe's fault

It's "imse vimse" in Sweden where she lives. And making words end with a y and changing v to w makes it English. Everyone knows that.

i don't know, but all the same i think i'm going to start checking my teapot for spiders before i use it...
