True. But if they do "break up" it probably wouldn't be permanent and it would mostly just be to pursue other stuff. In the time between HN and TT5B there were probably a few points where they weren't actively being the Beastie Boys but that doesn't mean they broke up.

I don't think they'll ever "break up" so to say; they'll just stop making records. im sure the post HN hiatus is a template for them to leave their career open ended. if they feel like making a new album, they will, if they dont they wont, if it takes them another 8 years to get bitten by the recording bug again, then so be it. i doubt they'd ever be so cryptic and bold to say they're through, especially being guys that just enjoy making music together. that shit wont wear off, if it hasnt by this point. they're well aware if they did call it quits that x amount of years from then they're going to be hangin' around in the studio again, resorting back to what they love doing.
