This isn't a remix. But I write songs. So I wrote and recorded vocals to go with Cousin of Death, one of my favorites. Thought I'd post it here.
As I mention here in this cousin of death thread (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=83471), this began as one of those projects in the car.
For the lyrics, I started with the song's given title as the theme and then took it from there. I listened over & over to each instrument to piece together melodies that would gel with the music.
The really fun part part was to pick out the structure of the song and figure out where the verses and choruses and bridges and interludes should all fit. It was like a big math experiment for a while and I'm happy with it structurally.
Then it was just a matter of attempting to give the vocals a similar feel to the track. I'm no expert there, so I just went the storied b-boys route of shitty mic and some fuzzy amp effects. Of course it doesn't sound like we're in the same room but I have learned that fuzz is my friend.
OK so HERE IT IS (http://www.supload.com/listen?s=DO6QR39TS9RZ). It was a fun experiment and I hope you enjoy!
