I bought a talkbox last friday and have been scewing around with it and figured to make a beastie mix with some added talkbox to practice...So what better song to do than "California Love"...So this is 2pac/Dr. Dre's "California Love" mixed up with me on the talkbox(custom BeastieMixes Chorus:cool:) and "Hold It Now, Hit"(I hate that damn drum beat before the verse starts)...Anyway the recording is not the best, if you listen closely you can hear me hitting the keys on the keyboard(pc) and breathing loudly, and plus i'm just learning...When I get a real keyboard it'll be better...So enough of me yapping...Check it out and let me know what you think...

HA ha cool. Where can I get one of these from?

You can run a vocoder plugin with acid 6 and use the piano roll to map out the notes to run alongside the aca and get similar results but hey...

I've never seen what you use. Is it something that could be made portable? So I could use it on the phone at work to p*ss my customers off?

I have a mate called "Q" (for good reason). I'll ask him if he can incorporate this talkbox into a mini accordian or something

I like that.

No doubt bro, thanks...You can get these at some guitar stores i think and on the internet, mine is a Rocktron Banshee...Yeah the talkbox is almost the same as an actual vocoder, like you use a keyboard/sythesizer to map out the notes you want to say, but the difference is that you use a long vinyl tube that comes out of the talkbox which you put in your mouth, the sound comes out of the tube and you manipulate the sound with your mouth to form words. I'm not actually speaking with my own voice. The only thing i'm doing, which is pretty tough, is pronouncing the "S's, T's, Sh's,X's" and probably some other letters. I ordered a keyboard/synthesizer on ebay which hasnt' come yet, so I download a program that lets you use your pc keyboard to play the notes....That's probably the reason you hear me hitting the keys so loudly....

I also uploaded an updated version by the way...I just fixed the levels of the vocals....Hope they're not too low now...

Awesome...Thanks, man......Ha, the Ghetto Talkbox...I tried making one of those first, I actually made two different ones, before buying the real thing....They both sucked......

Whooooowwwwwyyyy, this shit ROCK BIG TIME COS!!!!!!! I happened to like "California Love" a lot, in fact i was driving in my car this morning when it was played on the Dutch radio. I turned up the volume to max and went bezerk....:eek: And yeah, mixed with Beasties and Cos it even gets better. Nice work Cos, nice work!(y) Talkbox is da bomb :p
