The setup of most of the songs rotate groups of raps from each bboy normally 3 in a song. For instance, ad/mike/mca -chorus- mike/mca/ad -chorus- mca/ad/mike - end, a la ch-check it out. . (rarely beginning a song with mca by the way).

Thats all good, but I wish they kept a liitle more to the routine of intermixing rhymes throughout like in hey ladies, just a test, or shake your rump to naem a few. This style may have been influenced from run-dmc, and I'm sure is more difficult to be on cue when performing concerts. But it's my fav style nonetheless. Sometimes when they each get a few rhymes in then the next guy in order goes, it seems too much like they wrote the rhymes totally separate from eachother at home then got together and put it all into the song. Theres no flow on a subject normally and sometimes I'm not as in to it. Now it works in Get it Together cause i think they were going for a sound of everyone taking turns freestyling, but I just think the lyrics should blend a little more on other more polished songs.

Then you have the remote control and sabotage type songs where its all one guy which sometimes works for me too.

Anyway, anyone feelin me?

yeah. i've really been kind of "studying" them lately and it seems the newer the album, the less back and forth style rhyming is done. i think they probably stopped doing it b/c it's so hard.

whenever i watch AIFST, i laugh my ass off at how mike D cusses MMM for starting Brass Monkey and how in the extras they show them starting the song over b/c Mike D misses his cue. i think it's too difficult for them now a days. they have def evolved in their rap style and it seems that maybe they can't work it that way anymore due to that evolution.

i LOVE the way Mike raps now. he has that matter of fact "school teacher" flow. Adrock may give me a tingle ;), but Mike is my favorite rapper of the three.

wow, i really went down a rabbit trail.

yauch starts a few of the songs in TT5B-

ch-check it out, three the hard way, triple trouble, all lifestyles, open letter...

but lately on these tours I wanted to see MCA bust out with some featured solo stuff- anything like flowin prose, year and a day, namaste or bodhisattva vow...

True about MCA. Besides that, I think they also tried some new styles on TT5B like in It takes time to Build where every line in the song end in the same rhyme throughout.

Why does MCA talking equal a solo track? People are always on about Namaste. I like it, don't get me wrong.

Yauch needed to sing "I Don't Know" at The Gala Events...or break out "running out of time" by Brooklyn.

i can never get enough mc adam yauch!! <3 :o

Why does MCA talking equal a solo track?

it's purely the fact that he lends his voice (that sexy baritone voice!) to the music that makes namaste so incredible! the way he delivers his lines is so beauuutiful!! and inspiring! 'cause he's yauch, damn it! it's his song. :)

maybe he'll think about it for a future tour...hope so! (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=80068) 'cause i'd so love it!! more yauch makes a happy klepto. :D

I stand corrected, they used the same rhyme scheme prior to that in the grasshopper unit. holla.
