Its dope that they've maintained their stance on not selling any of their music to films or commercials, but a song like "5 piece chicken dinner"? I mean, i dont think there's any lack of integrity in offering up such a throwaway track. It's a fun joint, works well on PB, but its a bullshit track, i dont see why they would take it so seriously. its just them "whoo!-ing" over a barn burning banjo jam. oh well, at least they're keeping it real.

stating it would have given the film more credibility sounds to me like the polar opposite of a diss.

Hardly a diss. What's up with that article. A big opportunity for the Beasties? Like they need Burt’s help. That’s a quote from a song lyric, I doubt that was Yauch’s response. That's a classic song, and it's a classic movie being remade. They don't need to be selling thier back catalog. If it is true. They get respect for keeping thier word. That is today's Beastie Boys. Even though as legend has it they may not have had the opportunity they had if Cookie Puss wasn't illegally used in a commercial way back in the day. But they never agreed to it, and got the $$$ and here they are today. End of story. As for Burt well...It all starts with Loni, no wait way before then...Once upon a time there was a moustace and a vest...

You'd think they could just use the song that FPCD sampled.

I have a feeling this whole thread is a joke and the article is fake though. Well played :D

That article is so fake. When asked to comment Yauch says a rhyme from Hello Nasty?

Riiiiiight.

it was big headline in my local paper, Navassa Island Times.

Hey I read that paper too. Did you see today's paper expanding on the story? I scanned it, I think everyone will be interested to know what has happened...

oh my god, this just breaks my heart. i mean of course it's been clear since '87 that one day burt reynolds would replace a beastie boy, we all deal with that threat every day.

but i didn't think it'd be Yauch, and more important i am shocked they let reynolds in with an injured moustache! i mean how's he supposed to bring his a-game to the beastie boys franchise sans moustache?! standards, gentlemen.

yauch is irreplaceable!!!! damn you, burt reynolds!!:mad::mad:

i'm proud of yauch for not letting this hold him back though. you go, yauch! you're gonna be a badass president. i'll vote for you, baby!

I'm voting for Yauch. He has a lot to fall back on if he doesn't get elected.

I'm talking Brooklyn, Circuit II, Brenda K. Starr, and maybe a new joint with Jay Burzootie. I hear he's been working on adding his own vocals to the song Mike and Adam did with De La Soul.

Wait. SERIOUSLY!?!?

Is Yauch really not apart of the Beastie Boys anymore...?

This is heart breaking, just heart breaking. :(

Navassa Island Times broke the original story first. I don't think that New York paper knows what they are talking about. The residents of the island hope Beastie Boys will one day have a show here, so they were very bummed when Yauch was replaced by that moustache guy from the 70's.

I can't believe a few of you actually bought into this story. xoah a saw siht. It was my way of poking fun at the "batman, aquaman, etc disses beastie boys threads". Props to Rodie for coming up with a better storyline that had me laughing in tears. Gotta love those news generators.

And if you ever wondered about Navassa Island, it's a real place....I was on a ship once that anchored right next to it, our captain placed a jolly roger flag on it, but here's the island scoop:

Glad everyone had a good time with this.

Adam, excuse me for being a little out of order here. I know yours and the boys stance on songs being in commercials but this wasnt a commercial. It was to be featured in a movie soundtrack.

Why did you decline it?

Havent you had your other work featured in other movies like "hot to trot" and some steven segal film? I am sure there are others but I cant seem to remember them right now (too early in the morning right now).

Speaking of Burt, I just read his autobigroaphy.
I got it out the library, and was a very entertaining read, but not quite as entertaining as Dave lee Roth's one.

Although both similarly see themselves as gods.

Yeah I'll take the credit there. My favorite was putting MCA's line from Putting Shame In Your Game as an actual quote.

For some reason I was watching this 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' movie these days and all of a sudden Intergalactic started to play. It was a nice surprise.
