It reminds me of "An Andalusian Dog" (http://cours.cegep-st-jerome.qc.ca/530-gjb-p.l/images/Surandalou4.gif), but I don't know whether it's more Dali (http://bh.kyungpook.ac.kr/~kstek/20poesie/surreel/Dali.JPG)or Buñuel (http://www.transfluxfilms.com/images/bunuel.jpg).

i LOVED it! it was great. made me laugh and wish i had lived close enough to see one of the gala events. you did good!

Excellent job. Very creative and nicely done.

But...I always thought it was "a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and stick of butter".

awwww, i love adrock in slo motion black & white.

great job (y) especially the use of real-life mobile as forshadowing and the shots of all those hats. i love the finale when the eyes on the mobile open to the music. nicely done.

btw, the gallon/container lyric confusion prompted me to google this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFy2jHSIOKA) and sure enough the youtubers say it WAS once a gallon but they changed it because of the . . . say it with me . . . because of the metric system.

Hahaha...great. I don't want to sidetrack this thread. But when did it use to be a gallon of milk. I watched S. Street in the mid/late-70s and it was a container back then.

As far as the milk goes, its really interesting what goes on in our memory. I watched The Street well into my teen years and still hear "a gallon of milk" echoing in my head. "A container of milk" sounds jarring to my ear. I'm not saying you're wrong Laver, in fact this makes me really curious now. I was never good at quoting lines from movies, etc. I'd always fuck 'em up somehow and someone in the conversation would indignantly set me straight, so since I've learned that language retrival just aint my thing, I've had to come to the conclusion that, even if I'm wrong, I like my version better. Even if Sanford didn't call out to Weezy, it sounds better than Elizabeth -- that kind of thing.

Oh shit! I just watched the YouTube clip and have really been thrown for a loop! For one, I thought it was a boy not a girl, and I remembered him getting distracted by something along the way. So, I guess I made an homage to a false memory not an actual Sesame Street skit. Damn, laver, you were right. I'm still liking the sound of "a gallon of milk" better now that I've said it that way all these years.

This is sorta un-beastie related, but I just posted a video I did as a faux advertisement for a punk band in the high school where I teach. I'm proud of these guys as I've watched them since they were in the 5th grade, they just recently got studio time and split a 45rpm with The Scuds.
